BTW, Traci mentioned upthread that the swelling can take up to a year to go down. I've heard that too, although it wasn't the case for me. The meatball/spaghetti analogy was hilarious! But you will eventually be thinner. If you take out a melon-sized meatball, it's true that the intestines etc just slide in to take its place, but a lot of the bulk that was in there is gone. Before the surgery, your oversized uterus was pushing those intestines up and out of the way, increasing the size of your waist. One the swelling has gone down (which, yes, can take a while), you will have less bulk occupying your abdomen, your intestines will settle back down, and you will have more of a waist. This might not magically translate to a dead flat stomach, but it WILL be flatter than before.
