Support Group for non-NAS shoppers!

I need one - BAD. I know that Kim has declared that she is skipping the NAS this year. I am also. Anyone else out there? We need to band together, because the next couple of weeks are going to be KILLER (and I don't mean in Angie's "killer" terms!) Who else is there? Are Kim and I the only ones who are going to "deprive" ourselves this year? (sob!)

I am out, but I honestly don't know what I'm missing because I've never lived closer than 90 minutes from a Nordstrom in my life! I am also strapped into my $125/mo budget. Pretty sure that wouldn't get me very far. It will be hard to see all the fab finds. We'll just have to get creative in our closets to distract us!!

I'm out too. Never been to a NAS. Mo don't feel bad, I don't know what I'm missing either. Closest one is 2 hours away. Off to shop my closet!

Don't worry about it for a second! I see NAS as a great opportunity to pick up some basics that I've worn out in the past year (i.e. stockings, socks, bras if I'm really lucky) and then fish around for one or two killer items. If I don't find those items, then I'm pretty much out too.

Angie makes NAS fun, in my opinion. Before I found YLF, I could have cared less about NAS. So I'm just here to enjoy, whether I get 2 items or zero

Well, NAS has always been a MAJOR event in my life for many years! Usually, it is going on when my sisters are out visiting me and we spend several days at the NAS - enabling each other to buy lots and lots of stuff!!!! This year my sisters aren't going to be here (sob) and I really don't have any money for NAS - so its out for me - and I honestly am not sure what I'm going to do with myself! Over this past week I've got phone calls from 5 different SAs (from 3 different stores!) and also a call from a personal shopper that I used a few years ago. None of them can believe I am sitting this one out - I felt bad when I told them - sort of like I was letting them down - because I have always had so much fun with them! I think I need to leave town the next couple of weeks - perhaps go on a wilderness camping trip or to a monastery for some self-reflection and meditation!

I am in, Marley. I don't need anything and my body is changing so much with what is going on that I just don't want anything new. And for the first time in my life, I am overwhelmed by the size of my wardrobe.

I'm in too! I'm thinking that I'm going to be SYC for the rest of 2011. I need to spend a bit more time thinking about my rules, but I'm definitely out for the month of July, which means I'm out for NAS. Hopefully we can be strong together!

Oh Marley, that sounds painful. Sort of like an addiction you need to break. I recommend lots of tea and cupcakes while you're at that monastery - anything that brings you comfort!

Oh, Marley! I'm sorry you'll be missing an event you normally look forward to. Sounds like it is as much about bonding with your sisters as it is about clothes.

My mom used to get me early b'day presents at the NAS - got an awesome leather vest one year. But I've sat out the years since, because we had a huge falling out and haven't spoken in almost 2 years. I *could* go myself, but what I consider a "high ticket" item is more like $100, and in that case I can usually find better deals online and stretch my Fall budget further. It's still hard to miss the sale, though. :T

But hey, at least you and I can look forward to some bonding and "shopping" at the summer swap party!

With the approximately 400 items of clothing I already own, I honestly can't think of one wardrobe hole that I have to fill, so I don't think I'm even going to bother with NAS this year. I'll join the rest of you on the bench.
