Well, since I do supply ordering at the bakery, I will say the logistics problems are bad and don’t expect any reversal anytime soon. I’m in a port city… there are traffic jams at the ports and sailors are trapped off the coast because the ships can’t be unloaded.
And for example…. Parchment paper is double the price, IF you can get it.
I expect still to get parchment paper, tho, at a more reasonable if increased cost and only a week longer lead time. On the other hand, it won’t be our preferred type.
I am trying to stock up a bit before cost increases go into effect for other goods, but not like on toilet paper or anything.
For snow clothes, I’d expect less variety and higher prices not total unavailability… although it has to be said our local outdoors place has signs everywhere in the store apologising for lack of merchandise. They hadn’t any new shipments since the beginning of summer. I was able to buy a campstove but then had to go to Target to get fuel… uh, so that’s a thing… stuff is going to go to bigger retailers who do big contracts, rather than smaller businesses.
I’m not sure if I’d try to buy snow suits with the idea they’d work for two winters for really little kids. They grow so much. I’d probably hope to find something at the children’s second hand store first and if that failed, go the biggest cheapest chain store around.
