The Vince sneakers are going back. I exchanged my size 8.5s, which were too long, for the 8s. Now the 8s are too tight. Even at the NAS price of $150, they have to be really perfect to stay. I think the cheapie Sam Edelman slipons are a better fit for my feet, so after no-buy August, I will find black SEs.

This does help balance me after a big July, so it's not all bad.

Feeling your pain, Viva. I have this problem all the time. Heels flying off in one size, toes cramped if I size down. And my fingers and toes are as short as the average 10 year old according to those in the know (though I am 5'7"). Go figure. I love that style sneaker but have almost no chance of owning a pair.
Here's to the post-July balance.

I think I'm going to try these similar $89 shoes out for fall, along with a few other cuties from Athleta. But this type of shoe is so easy to be a not-fit, so I will wait till they come in and not get my hopes up.

i'm also returning these. they fit, but wow, they make my foot look HUGE. and honestly, they not uncomfortable, but they're not sneaker comfortable either.

FWIW I tried on a Sam Edelman slip on earlier this summer. It was light blue with studs, maybe the shoe name was braxley or braxton. It was very large on me both in length and width and had to go back. But I have narrow feet...

That's too bad. But you've made some good points about the silver linings--another less expensive pair that could serve the same purpose, and saving a little wear on the ol' credit card. Sometimes I am relieved when an expensive item doesn't work; I just need to satisfy my urge to try it.

Aww, sorry, Viv. I wanted to get these, too, but I had to draw the line somewhere. Glad I did (or didn't?). I cannot find a pair of slip-ons that fit me correctly. I like the SEs, but I'm not sure they'll work either. I might just have to give up. So sad. Great title. Cracked me right up.

So sad, Vivian! I am now planning on duplicating the SE sneakers in black soon as well. I saw a nice black croc-look pair online the other day that I would like to pounce on. Not on sale though. I've been slipping my foot into various black versions of sneakers around town here, just to get a feel for sizing in other brands. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a black version of SE closer to fall. I'm wearing my blue ones all.the.time.
