I have the opposite problem--I am small-boned and petite, but with a large head (21.5" circumference). I make a lot of crochet hats and the majority of them don't fit me very well.
I need a new sunhat too, actually. I have a packable straw hat from China that I LOVE, but it's 7 years old and the wire is starting to poke out. I am going back to China again this fall and tops on my list is to find a replacement for my beloved straw hat!
Ha! I wear kid's hats, too, with a 21" circumference head!
Very cute hat - it looks great on you. And I was interested to see that the maker is a B Corp, with a corporate mission od supporting skin cancer awareness and prevention. It's always nice to combine shopping with a good cause!
It's so nice to read post about you Angie. Well speaking as one whom has a large cranium hats are challenging. This looks so cute on you. Perfect fit and the sound of music is my favorite musical of all time. My sister is so embarrassed. I sing and know all the songs by heart.
So cute and I like sun protection that protects and is just fashionable enough when the perfect one can't be found. I, too, have a small head and may I suggest sewing, in a few places along the circumference of the inner band, a soft headband in the inner band area to make a hat smaller and more comfortable for you. Either that, or insert the soft portion of a Velcro strip inside, as well.
Rachylou, I'm pretty sure they do make them, for Derby, which probably isn't a thing where you live, but what do you find when you google "derby hat"? Check this out http://bleacherreport.com/arti.....hill-downs
