Summer Slippers?

Hello, everyone!

I've been wearing L.L. Bean Wicked Good slippers for the last 9 years--same pair, because they're that sturdy, but they're finally about to bite the dust. I plan to replace them for winter because I've loved them, but I'm also thinking about a cooler pair for hotter months because they're sometimes too warm and cozy living in Atlanta...

Just wondering if anyone has found any particular brands or styles that work! Especially if anyone has high arches and high insteps like me. I want something comfy, roomy, and flexible that will protect my feet and keep them clean without getting too warm. I've been Googling a bit, but I like to try recommendations from others, too.

I wear Ugg slippers w/ substantial soles until it's too warm, then I've worn ON flip-flops thru the summer months. I've decided to upgrade to these Birks this year.

I do ABEO from Walking Company - sandals mostly. Slides are available as well. There is normal arch ( I use that type ) and special one for the extra bump in the middle of the sole ( did not quite liked that ). I have high arch and high instep as well. Hope there is more options available somewhere else.

I have these (the sandals)- recovery sandals. Mine are not looking pristine as I used them for painting but I am likely to replace as they are super comfy. The slippers look good too but I haven't seen them in NZ.

Ditto for Birkies. I like the support and letting my feet get air.
Have LLBean for winter as well. Workhorse for sure!

I'm partial to Crocs, but each style fits a bit differently. The Bae with an extra thick platform is about 1/2 size bigger than the silver ones with a moderate platform. The lined ones fit differently still and aren't all that warm. DD and her BF found the Crocs with the tiny holes fit about 1/2 size big. DH got those in black on black.

I use Crocs for the garden, and Fitflop sandals inside. I keep one pair for indoor use and one pair for outside. They are great for my plantar fasciitis. Having said that, they aren't making as many with this particular footbed any more so I may switch next year to Vionics or Mephistos or some other brand.

Lately I like to wear pool slides around the house, preferably a pair with some arch support. If it’s hot, the foot stays breezy but cleaner than barefoot; if it’s chilly, I can put on a sock.

I can’t wear Birks and don’t like Crocs, so I basically do what Jessi says and wear pool slides or my Teva flip-flops around the house in summer, if I’m not just barefoot.

I have high arches, prone to plantar Fasciitis and these work for me.
But…I wear the white EVA Arizonas with ease -soft and supportive.
I bought a pair in orange-uncomfortable as they are really hard.
I bought a pair in black-harder still, unwearable for me.

Whatever you do, don’t wear Crocs inside. A friend slipped on a little water her dog had spilled in her kitchen and fell and needed surgery to fix her knee. I wear them gardening and they’re great for that, but keeping her in mind, I never ever wear them inside.

I personally go barefoot in summer. Your slippers had much better staying power than any I’ve had recently. I’ll keep them in mind next time I need new slippers.

Cheapie pool slides work for me when shoes are a must at home, like running to the cellar or taking out the trash. Otherwise I’m barefoot, baby. (My son, otoh, puts his orthotics in his Giesswein slippers when he comes home and wears them all the time to keep his back from hurting).

If you have plantar fasciitis the oofos are worth looking at as they are supposed to help with recovery. I certainly find them very supportive and comfortable.

I am a fan of Vionic slippers after wearing LLBean Wicked Goods. I have a similar fleece lined pair but my LL Bean slippers did not hold up well compared to yours. I have some Target slippers that have been better than my LL Beans. My Vionics look like loafers and have a sole that can be worn for quick trips outside. They look almost new at the end of two years of year round wear. ( we have wood floors). I can’t wear anything open that does not protect feet from injury , nothing sandal-like.
