Summer sandals help - YouLookFab Forum

I bought the Sofft Blyss (pic 1-2) on a whim at Rack and they've quickly become my go to sandal this summer. I wear them with everything - dresses, shorts, BF jeans.

I have nothing else similar and would like more than one option to fit this need before I wear out the Soffts.

I tried the Gentle Souls Us Two (pic 3) and brought them home but have not worn them yet. The comfort is through the roof but they're just not as delicate or refined as the Soffts. Though they're way more comfy. I was considering getting them in black too (pic 4) bc they're so darn comfortable and I have no black sandals.

Are the GSs too clunky? Would they be as flexible (go with everything) as my Soffts - am I just being hard-headed?

Any suggestions on something similar to the Soffts? Help me shop or convince me to keep the GSs.

FWIW, I don't care for the birkies trend and lean toward modern classic dressing as a WFH MOTG. I have a wide flat foot and prefer straps to keep them on my feet. I do a ton of walking. No super thin straps and no gladiators, please.

I do think the GSs would go with everything. They are less refined than the first pair, but they look awsome all the same! I think I would get the black instead of #3, they're different enough in comparison with #1 to serve a different function getting dressed and you wouldn't always compare them to the Soffts.

I have worn Softts and find them really comfy...For sandal looks both of these would work....I like the look in 1-2 more than the black but that is just personal preference...I think you are definitely on the right track...

Another vote for the GS in black. They are different enough from the Softts to feel like you are expanding your selection but still close enough to suit your taste and style. I like them, don't feel they are clunky, and can imagine they would be as versatile as the Softts. And if they are truly that comfortable, I would hate for you to let them go.

I'm wearing the Soffts almost daily, so would it be overkill to KEEP the GSs in the natural color as WELL as get them in black?

Mmh, if you think you would go for the natural colored GSs instead of the Sofft? It's just you sound very in love with #1 and said you haven't worn the light GS ones yet, which means they could be a potentional wardrobe orphan in the making.

I already have the ones pictured in 1/2. I suppose I am somewhat trying to duplicate them (without buying the exact same pair of shoes). Basically I know the color scheme works well for me with my closet and to bookend my hair.

My idea is in the end to have all three (greedy me, I know)

The Softts (pic 1/2) are being worn like crazy and have already proven themselves.
The light GSs (pic 3) will be an alternative to the Soffts.
The black GSs (pic 4) will give me a black sandal option which I don't have right now.

Rereading your reply, Astrid, yes, you could be right that the light GSs could be an orphan. I fear if given the choice I would go for the Softts, but...the element of comfort comes up quite frequently with the amount of walking I do, and the GSs win hands down. So I can see a space for both in the closet, really.

Mmh, maybe try to incorporate the black GSs on days you walk a lot and get the light colored ones afterwards if you're missing lighter colored shoes on those days after all?

I think you love the Sofitts. What about duplicating them? You know they work... I think it's safer than the lighter GS's which are not that different, nor as loved, so may become orphans.

And if you can swing three pairs, get the GS's in black. I think they are a great compliment, and the slightly clunkier look will be great with denim, and darker clothes.

Well, Elizabeth, the Soffts do work for MOST of the time. But on days where we go downtown and ride the Metro, for example, I don't wear them, because (A) my foot is too exposed - need a more solid, firmly fitting shoe and (B) because sometimes they rub a little after multiple hours / tons of walking. They're not a 10 on the comfort scale.

Astrid, thanks for the suggestion on how to hold off on getting both at once - you are a clever one!

Also I should add I own 1-3 but NOT 4. I can return 3 or exchange for 4 depending on availability. Nordies was my source for 3.

I'd swap the GS neutral for the GS black as your black sandal option; the "nude" is too earthy to be a complete similarly used shoe as the Sofft. I think you're after something a little prettier there, and the gold probably goes a long way towards "going with everything".
