See pics in thread below of BR kick flare try on.

I've been looking hard for a pair of pants for my summer wardrobe. I thought a pair of navy or Burgundy ankle pants would fit well with my summer capsule and I've tried on numerous styles and brands to no success. They would fit but I wouldn't like them. Today I tried on similar pants at Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, Talbots, Loft and WHBM. I finally clued in and reread style guides for inverted triangles that generally recommend ITs to avoid tapered pants and tight fit around the knee -- this is how almost all ankle pants look on me. No wonder I was unsatisfied with them. It also explained why the current pairs of cropped or ankle pants (in finds) are working for me. My olive ankle pants are slightly tapered, but have detailing (vertical seam and ankle zip) and skim rather than cling, which mitigate the slight tapering. The Burgundy chinos are a relaxed fit. And the Lucky Brand Sweet Crops have a straight fit from the thighs down and a slight flare towards the bottom hem. Unfortunately, the chinos and jeans are too casual for work.

This leaves me still looking for one pair of summer-weight pants for work. Slightly dressy, but preferably ankle (2" above ankle) length that I can wear with flats and sandals. Any suggestions of a work appropriate straight fit, possibly slightly wide or full leg, or cropped flared pant that could work? Any one else struggle with this?
