Summer dresses that flatter for IT shapes

Any suggestions? I am really wanting a couple of more casual summer dresses and haven't seen anything that fits the bill. With wide shoulders and no waist, it is difficult to find styles that flatter and work in a fuss-free way.

A-line halter dresses! A multiway instead of a strapless bra and you should be good to go.

Girl X! Thanks. I forgot to add that boobs are a factor, so I do not do halter dresses unless they are modified to not tie behind the neck. A-line is good, but I have a hard time finding those in summery fabrics. I think I'm going to start sewing my own dresses!

I think http://www.athleta.com or http://www.titlenine.com might have a-line halters that aren't backless/tied. In fact, I bought this one a couple of years ago: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/.....pid=683879 It's not quite a halter, but the straps do cut in more than normal straps (does that make sense outside my head?).

Did you ever try the Patgonia Kamala dress in the YLF store? I see that 6pm has them for $20 and $2.95 shipping. It is a bit low cut in the front but nothing that a camisole wouldn't cover. It's a substantial knit--not as clingy as the Target knits. It's perfect for a casual day. (I have it in medium.)

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever done a WIW in that dress. It's just basic black but I wore it a lot last summer. Let me see what I can do....

Kellygirl, what a gem of a gal! I think this dress would look great on you, Una. Are you *actually* busty these days, or do you just *feel* like you are busty :)? Maybe you disguise it really well in your WIW pics, but I never notice any sort of boobage at all (not that I'm zeroing in or anything...). Okay, I'll shut up now.

Lol, Una, my 10 year old is bustier than me : ) I think it would work fine with a camisole. I never bother because I don't really need one. There is a V in the back as well but it's not so deep that it shows my bra strap so I would think a cami would work just fine.

ETA: I hate looking at my (linebacker) back but this gives you an idea of what the rear of the dress looks like. It's different than this year's version of the Kamala.

Kelly is a knockout in that dress! And for $22.95! What a steal at 6pm.com. Una, that could totally be a three season piece for you! Think (color) tights and JCrew blazer and denim jackets and all your lovely boots........

Jonesy, good point - I do have a bit of body dysmorphia remaining... but I am certainly far from flat at 32D. For the price at 6pm it is worth a try!

Do you have an H&M near you? I'm not an IT, but I do have a strong shoulder line, and I just got a cute dress there. The details are hidden under the sweater, but it has pockets on the hips and bust (that don't add too much bulk), buttons up the front and it came with a belt. It has a military vibe to is, and is pinstriped gray on gray.
