Summer dresses - to keep?

I've ordered some summer dresses online, these are the two I'm thinking of keeping, but would love to hear your thoughts first!

(They are actually both maternity dresses, but with my tummy I find that I'm drawn to these styles, as long as they look ok on, but maybe other styles would be better?)

#1 navy casual dress, just for easy summer days
#2 from side
#3 close up of cute golden buttons
#4 printed dress
#5 from side

As always I appreciate your honest opinions! Do the maternity styles accentuate the tummy too much?

(Boyfriend is away so not the best pics, sorry!)

Well, comparing to the olive dress that you already own (and I like a lot), I'd say that that the blue dress is not as flattering on you (maybe with a jacket?). I'd vote yes for the black and no for the blue dress.

I like both dresses too, but like the first one best. The floral does look a bit more like a maternity dress, but I'm not sure why. If you like it and can use it, keep. It is a lovely dress.

I like both dresses on you too. Because they are empire line, I would not have guessed that they were maternity dresses. The lines of the first dress are most flattering, but I really like how the blue dress brings out the colour of your eyes. If you keep only one, I would keep the black dress.

I am conflicted. It's not that these are bad, and I don't think they read maternity dress, but I've liked some other shapes on you better. However, I totally get this style of dress is easy on and cool. Also, how do shift dresses work for you?

I know that's difficult to find right dress so to my mind first, the black one is better but the second one is great print but it accentuates the tummy. My suggestion is to try the other style maybe shirt dress or shift dress or any unstructured dress.

Thanks everyone for your input! I'll be keeping the darker one but am not sure of the print. I really like the colours and the print but I think the cut is more maternity-y than the dark one, which makes me question it. The place I've ordered from has another one in print, also maternity but maybe not as visibly so?

delurked and mirjana, I'm not totally sure what a shift dress is (I'm Swedish so not completely familiar with all terminology ), and with the help of google I get different results, some more fitted and others more loose. The loose style I can definitely see working for me but not the fitted ones!

I like the dark one on you best. I vote return the print.

Have you tried a trapeze style? They are great in summer and seem like they would be good on your figure.

A shift dress is a straighter cut dress without a defined waist. I'm including the finds for the two I got this year, just as an example of the style.

I like the dark one on you, not sold on the bust fit for the patterned one though the color and hem are pretty. From the stock photo I feel like the other floral you showed might work better for you.

I think they're both really nice on you. They fall well. I'd keep both.

I do that too - sneak into the maternity department. There are really cute things you can find. Things are fitted nowadays, not baggy sacks.

Thanks so much everyone! It's great to get so much feedback, but it's tricky with different thoughts! I really like the print and colour of the lighter one, but not entirely sure about the cut... but many seem to like it - and Angie does!

I'm thinking of the other printed dress I found, but if I buy that instead I will have two dark summer dresses, so then I'd prefer the lighter one... hm, tricky!

Thank you delurked, I think shift dresses would cling to my tummy too much..!
