Summer Accessory purchases: Sandals and Purse

Besides the Aquatalia Jacks spring boots, I have recently purchased my two summer sandals and an awesome summer bag (or purse, as I instinctively call it). I ended up returning the Franco Sarto Tasers despite the overwhelming love for them here and on the blog; I just didn't like that particular nude shade or the thickness of the straps that high up my ankle, and Hubby agreed. I gave them a go with just about every outfit, but they never worked.

Instead, I finally got the Clarks Laguna Reefs that I had been admiring on Sarah for the last month. LOVE them. Their more delicate straps appeal to my taste better, and the fit and height and comfort are exactly in my wheelhouse. I was wearing them the very next day after I purchased them, which I only ever do with shoes I worship.

I also bought a pair of gladiators on recommendation from Barking Dog Shoes (great site for people with fussy feet), and I will second the rec: they are insanely comfortable, and definitely work as an all-day shoe. I wore them on my recent trip to Detroit where I was walking all day and night and they held up great.

The last accessory purchase was a new summer bag also from Clarks; they are now selling the Tignanello brand, which I really like. The leather is always so soft and the styles are just tasteful and just interesting enough for me. Plus, there are outside pockets for my cell phones! (Yes, I have two, for work and for home.) I've been looking for a light-colored bag, grey if I could find it, and this just sang to me. I say it's a dove grey with blue undertones, but Hubby thinks it's a pale blue. Either way, we both think it's gorgeous! (And it was on sale.)

I must admit that I am suffering extreme shoe envy! I spent all of my last summer looking for a pair of shoes, EXACTLY like your wedges and could never find them! I am so impressed to see that what I imagined as a perfect pair of summer wedges does actually exist! Sarah, I wore them in a casual outfit with jeans last night, and loved 'em all over again. They're so versatile.

Taylor, I am so in love with the bag, it's embarrassing. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, so I am delighted it's in this summer and there are so many options for it.

Katie, sometimes it is worth buying a shoe at the end of the season and then having ready to go the next year. I did that with my La Canadienne patent rainboots and I did not regret it. They got so much wear I felt like I had hit the boot jackpot!
