"Suitable" Choice for a Job Interview

I wore my Classiques Entier suit to a job interview and felt great. The only drawback was my lipstick smeared around my lips and I didn't know it until I got in my car and looked in the rear view mirror. Ack! They must not have been too creeped out by me because they asked me back for a follow up interview.

One of these days, I'm going to turn into a polished and poised lady, but right now, I'm just a hot mess, lol.

I wish I could find a dozen suits that fit as well as this and are as comfy.

You are totally fab in this.
Your shopping goals were a good reminder to keep the " interview", or special meeting, capsule updated.
It's surprisingly hard to do, for me anyway, since it requires the total package in more coordinated proportions, best fit, right colors, sometimes seasonal fabrics, footwear needs that rule out dressy power pumps. Any targeted, saved outfit really needs to be re- evaluated frequently, as things will change. Also there's a need for adequate comfort and dependable performance lest one end up as a hot mess, as you say.

you look wonderful, and eminently professional. I doubt they noticed the lipstick, but I understand the worry about being inelegant--I am totally inelegant, especially when food is involved. My friends once told me I should never eat ice cream on a date

Elegant, with a gorgeous fit. The fabric and panel create interest and texture in a classically refined package.

Such a difference from my recent interview look! I'm looking for work as a music therapist, and I noticed that, at a recent conference, they were quite casual -- think elementary school teacher attire. It killed me, but I chose dressy wide leg trousers. But I still wore a jacket, although a chambray one!

Lipstick is such a pain sometimes...that is my most problematic makeup item. Getting it on, staying within the lines, keeping it on, not letting it bleed...ugh.

Beautiful dress, classic but intersting, as Susie said. You never look like a mess, you always look pretty and polished. Lipstick that smears? Strange ..... Maybe you should change brand.

Sisi, I blame it on my oily skin. All makeup smears on me, even with primers.

Jenava, I certainly hope they freak out; otherwise, I'll wonder why I let them work me so hard that I broke a tooth (grinding my jaw at night), almost had a nervous breakdown and then ended up with ulcers. I feel that this is a good firm and the cases I've worked on have been meaningful, but if they let me go with nary a care, I'll have some reevaluating to do.
