Suggestions on wearing this j. crew top

My sister and I went shopping one evening in Florida. I found stuff at j crew and she cleaned up at BR. Everything was an additional 40% off the sale prices...

One item I picked up was this top, which frankly startled me with how good it looked on. Sort of a slouchy sporty crepe sweatshirt. Very upscale tomboy. But now that it's home I have no idea what to pair it with or how to style it. Any suggestions?

Ok a couple of ideas....

With a skirt (pencil or full) in denim, leather, or a plain colour with on trend shoes (pointed flats, slides/birkenstocks, pumps)

With boyfriend style jeans and trainers for a super casual look

With luxe soft loose trousers and heels for an upmarket sporty look.

I like the top very much.

I like the idea of the BF jeans. Especially in white, ripped/destructed if you have them, for that UWP Prepster vibe.

Love that shirt...by all means, work with it until you find a style you like...How about the pajama jeans for a super casual outfit at home or out...BF jeans...
leggings, jeggings whatever...The cut of the shirt and the color are really TDF...Can't wait to see how you decide to style this one...

Great shirt! Here are my ideas for it:

Dressy: half tucked with a pencil skirt and pointy toe pumps with a statement necklace
Casual: light wash beat up BF jeans and slip-on/skater sneakers with a some kind of fab pattern on them

Wouldn't it go with your pajama jeans and your silver birks? (Yay! I just noticed that Thistle and I are thinking the same thing! High five, Thistle!) I love the idea of it with leather pants, and slightly slimmer jeans and a pencil skirt too. I'm sure you'll find lots to wear it with!

What a cute shirt.
I'd try it with a sleek lightweight-denim pencil skirt in a dark wash to make a column of color and add some clunky platform sandals and a ponytail.

Wow I am clearly clueless! Looks like I need to just start throwing it on. It has a banded hem which is different for me... Will get working on it!

A banded bottom? I thought that was a bottom that was fitted (like a sweater will often have the ribbing at the bottom or like the cuffs on this one) to bring it in. This looks like it drops down freely, but has a doubled, wider hem on the bottom. Of course, I could be totally wrong--about the fit and about the meaning of banded! I live to learn. (BTW, thinking of the many ways that this is going to look fabulous on you is making me want one for myself!!!)

Oh, and did I forget to mention how great this is going to look with a front tuck and flares?

My first thought is in place of a classic crewneck - so with collared shirt/blouse, heels possibly, any kind of trouser - harem, skinny, straight leg, flared.

Great shirt! I vote play with the sportiness and go all sport, or against it and pair with dressy things. How funny that the banded hem is different for you, I was just thinking that feels like all I have these days They work very nicely for semi-tucking in low enough bottoms, you'll see.

I have a similar top (black, white stripe down arm) and I like to wear it with light-wash denim (BF or skinny) and black booties. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
