Suede trench

So I saw this suede trench coat by Rebecca Minkoff, especially the wine color. But the largest size is a medium. There's no size chart that I can find, I emailed them to get more info.

Sweeeeet trench. I'll admit it flashed through my mind that perhaps a suede trench in Seattle wasn't the most practical item...? Joking, joking, I realize it doesn't rain constantly.

I don't like the color as well as the Rebecca Minkoff one and you just know the suede won't be as soft and yummy!

This is so perfect! Major wantsies! I hope they come up with the proper range of sizes. I have looked at their website for bags, and found them to get more items in stock after apparent sell out, so maybe they will do it for pre orders on the coat.

Fun '70s item.

I actually prefer the cheaper one - so I'm a spanner. I love that shade of cognac. Of course, the suede will not be the same quality as the higher end piece.

A cheaper suede coat is probably a better idea for rainy Seattle, Anna.

I love the red one. The brown would look good on you but it really isn't a good substitute for the red. At least not enough to make you forget the red.

The wine coat is gorgeous. I like that it is longer (or looks so) than the NY and Co one. The dress is striking, too.
Maybe you need something double-breasted, right away.

It has been raining a lot this week so the thought of an expensive suede coat is a bit frightening to me no matter how lovely it is.

I like that a lot. I can see the cognac one working for your coloring nicely too, although I can relate to being more drawn to the burgundy.

Ooh that wine suede one is delicious. The sizing is annoying though!

I've wanted a wine colored leather trench my whole life. My mom has a short one from the 70s and I remember her wearing it all the time when I was a kid and it's the (probably unattainable) ideal to me. Sadly I am like 4 sizes too big to steal it.

Both these pieces would look amazing on you. I could see the dress paired with a sharp white blazer and killer pumps (although that look might need a bit more edge for you). I think the RM coat looks generous in the shoulder, but slender through the arms and bust. I like the idea of the less expensive one --- waterproofed, of course!

Suede is so appealing right now, isn't it? It can be heavy, especially in a full-length coat, but that RM one is a beauty. Can't say I like the less expensive one as much--looks bunchy to me. Have you considered indulging your impractical-for-Seattle suede craving with something 2nd-hand? There's a sleek long rust suede coat on Ebay for under $100. Says it fits sizes 8-12, if that works for you. Not double-breasted, but a nice-looking cut. Meanwhile, I just ordered an English vintage black suede jacket for $36, because I've been pining after the $4500 St. Laurent fringed one! No fringe on this, unfortunately, but hand-warmer pockets & covered buttons, which probably suit me better anyway.
