Suede in summer? And other purchase indecisions...

Just found the perfect pair of peeptoe wedges that I know I would get miles of usage out of for work, in exactly the shape and style I have been looking for and not seeing anywhere.

The problem is they are suede, which just seems SO WRONG for summer! What do you guys think?

I am also contemplating picking up a bunch of skirts and pants, and one cute whole outfit at ATL. All are on sale, and I do have two of those $25 off coupons to use. I may try to stop by the store to get them, but online might be more of a sure thing in my size. Thoughts?

Lovely findings!
The suede is too hot for the summer and the fact that those shoes are black make it more apropriate for the spring or autumn. I would buy it and keep it for the autumn.
The vest is lovely and so fashionable!

Unfortunately, peeptoe in the fall in Chicago isn't appropriate, either. The shoes are such a strange combination, they're really not appropriate for ANY season: the suede makes them wrong for summer, and the style is wrong for fall. I think I should pass, and hope that soon I will find the same style in a better fabric. Darn!

I never understand shoes like those, either. I have some suede peeptoes. I do LOVE them (red with black contrast stitching) but really only feel like I can wear them a few weeks a year because of the combination of peeptoe and suede. I think you're on the right track by passing on them.

I love the outfit you've put together. That vest is FUN and we haven't seen you in one that I can remember.

I caution on those pants with the tie. I have some like that and they're kind of awkward because you kind of have to tuck the shirt because of the tie. That can get tricky. I've found them a very casual pant.

The skirt would be better, I think. Skirts are better for tucking.

I have suede peep-toe wedges for summer (in purple!) and I love them - I don't think the material is too hot, it actually breathes fairly well in my opinion. Cute outfit - snatch it up!

- Suede shoes: I'm always wondering about that too Kristen. They do seem to have an Autumny vibe to them. Curious to hear what the others think.

- Khaki pants: oops, they're not available anymore? Personally I'm not a big fan of this colour, I prefer the white ones in the picture on the right. In my experience you can only wear them with tops tucked in (the belt creates a bulge otherwise), so that's something you need to consider too.

- Linen skirt: that is indeed a beautiful colour!! Lovely skirt. Same remark about the belt as above (as long as your fine with that - you have the figure for it! - this will be a great skirt)

- White pencil skirt: yes!!
- Tee in coral: yes!
- Micro stripe vest: absolutely!!
- Sandals: uh huh!!

I think you can wear suede shoes in the summer, depending on the style and the climate. For example, I could wear those shoes where I live, since the average summer temp is like 71 deg F. Or sandals like these are fun:

Out of all the ATL clothes you posted, I like the blue skirt the best. What a great style and wonderful for summer. Your outfit seems like it would be a hit too -- go for it!

Kristen, I have no concept of seasonal textures so I'm completely useless, LOL But I can't wait to see the summer outfits!

LOL Niva, have a little patience! I just ordered some things.

I ended up stopping at LOFT to try as much as I could on. Ended up getting:

-the pencil skirt in black and in khaki (the white didn't look right, and actually I got the two skirts in different sizes because they fit differently)
-the coral top (the color is AMAZING with my skin tone)
-some scoop-neck t-shirts (they were having a BOGO sale, and I don't even have a white or a black t-shirt! tragic)
-white short-sleeved jacket, lined and fitted (in the sale rack, not even on the website anymore)

They only had the sandals in black in my size, so I tried those, and only medium vests in plain white or black. I also tried on the linen skirt in tan, and realized it was much too short for work. Dang! So I came home and ordered the vest in a large and the sandals in cognac.

The suede shoes I think I am passing on; as Alecia said, there may only be a very short window of a few weeks where they would be appropriate, and that's not worth the effort. I did find a killer pair of pinstripe fabric peeptoes with a thin 3" heel at Famous Footwear, which I wore today. They're not nearly as comfy as most of my other heels, but they will do for occasional shoes.
