Gorgeous blouse, excellent jeans! For maxi skirts, I'd probably suggest you look for something straighter/less A-line, and in a less heavy fabric - but it's a fun experiment.

I'll echo those who don't care much for the PB phrase. Adding kitty-cat connotations makes it worse in my view - we aren't dressed-up pets! I will call those "bow blouses" also. (Which I don't think yours is...narrow ties, IMO, come across quite differently from the wide ribbony ones I associate with the old Dress For Success look.)

As for tie-front blouses, I have some with string ties; they have a kind of poet-shirt/bohemienne/gypsy feel, and I think they look good on me. However, anything with a big foofy bow in the front I will avoid. Anything that can be interpreted as frou-frou, cutesy, or little-girlish is right out.

(Oh BTW...DH calls his underwear "manties." It's kind of adorable!)

wilson, isn't it funny how you can get so excited over a thrifted find? It's like hunting and gathering, so different from just googling something and buying it. And like you said, there are days of nothing, and days when you know you're on a ROLL! Hmmm, I sound like a gambler - and it does have some of that same feeling!

Yes! It is the closest thing to gambling that my super cautious self can indulge in. I have picked up a lot of things though that I've donated right back in a month's time but I have to say I'm getting really good at being discerning in the moment. Its like anything, to get good you have to practice.

What I love most about thrifting is that it has helped me expiriment with styles and items that I normally didn't try. It has helped me grow style-wise because of this. I can bring the item home, wash it and play with it for several weeks.

WOW - great haul - I can't wait to see how you style it all. I LOVE those jeans and the blouse in particular!

I have no problems with any of those words - but you are all making me giggle We call underpants "knickers" (or undies) in our house - although my 4yr old calls them "knickeeeees" LOL

And you've inspired me to go thrifting again! I haven't been for so long because I was getting disappointed with not finding anything - maybe my luck will have changed... although I think the charity stores around here are giving as much as possible to all the people who lost everything in our recent floods... Will have a look!

I am so psyched to have found some jeans that meet the current trends for $5, since I am SYC! Alaska is slow to catch up on trends - I think we're still in the real 1970s. These jeans are from the Gap 1969 line, so they are not that old, but they seem either older or current somehow.

The jeans are a great find and the green cardi looks like it's one of the spring pantone colors.

I with Theresa on saying knickers or undies. And in Australia "underwear" refers to a whole range of things, ie your "underwear drawer" may contain bras, singlets (vests) petticoats as well as knickers

The jeans are an amazing find!
