Stylish & comfy walking shoe - I'm lost

My black Eurosneakers (Rieker) needs to be replaced. They are almost worn out. The denim sneakers are from H&M and super comfy, but not enough support for all day walking and too casual.

But what should I look for now? I can't figure out what I want and I feel a bit
lost. Maybe I am a bit too demanding..

.. they need to be
- comfy (all day walking shoe)
- stylish (go with skirts and dresses, smart casual)
- not oxfords (don't know why)
- not ballerinas (too sweet/twee)
- come out strong in a way, yet elegant and maybe a bit understated (if that makes sense)

I like #2 Isabel Marant Jenny boot in taupe and antracite, but they are
pricey and the toe is too much pointing upwards (yes, silly me I know)

AND the Isabel Marant boots may not be comfy enough and maybe too warm. I want the replacement shoes to be lighter than my booties. And these are a totally different style than sneakers. Stylish walking shoes is a tough one

I have them in grey and these were my goto shoes in a recent trip to Praha..
It comes in various colors even military if I am not wrong. And I love them to bits.

There are tons of knock offs of the boots; I have a "Dicker" lookalike from Report (Angie recommended) and it is super comfortable for a heel. Rae has them, too. These are the first booties I would ever have considered wearing in spring/ summer. In fact, for me, these are primarily a spring/ summer/ fall shoe. I wear them in summer without hose. I wouldn't wear them on our very hottest most humid days, but you don't get that kind of weather very often.

But for shoes now -- this is the year of the sassy sneaker! Angie has a whole Pinterest board of looks.

I bought the Highness (baby wedge) Converse that Angie has and I'm loving them! I had never been able to wear Cons before because they are too flat for me; but these were brilliant.

Another option would be the Angie recommended Caspian by Josef Siebel. Sarah has those and walked through Europe with them. Ecoo also has some fun sneaker-lookalike lace ups this year.

Thank you! I feel like I'm being really picky and difficult now, because I don't see many shoes that speaks to me these days. I really appreciate your input anyway and it helps me think about other options - and that's a great thing!

Rute - I really like the first ones by Massimo Dutti, but the heel might be a tad too high for all day walking

Joy - I'm very familiar with Ecco and love the fit and quality, but some of their walking shoes are borderline frumpy (not the ones you linked to). I'll take a closer look The Merrell shoe looks soo comfy, but might be a bit too sporty for work?

Ramya - I'll check out Dinsko I have not been much around stores the last months and I might have missed something

Sue - Thanks for the sassy sneakers link! I really love the look on others, but somehow feel too casual when wearing my beloved grey sneaks (#1). And the wedged sneakers seems really strange to me - this hybrid shoe do not speak to me :-/ Yes, I'm being really difficult and picky now...

What do you think about these options? Ecco is a bit pricey, but I know they are really comfy and last forever

puma has the most amazing collection of sneaks across the dressiness spectrum. including some executed in what looks like color blocked felt.

I like all the Eccos you linked to - - but they seem quite different in purpose, with the first two being dressier and the last two casual/ sporty. So maybe you need to figure out what you will be wearing with them mostly and follow that?

I love the Ecco Perth for a dressier option. It seems to me that it would be good to have something like that and a sneaker type shoe like the Ecco Golf Street.

I love the strong clean lines and think they'd go with everything, kind of like the Ecco Perth. They come in a bunch of different colors, too.

Suz - I think you're very right - I need to figure out which direction I'm heading. I'm confused.

I'm imagining a urban vacation / work trip in spring time when it's too warm for booties, but still not sandal temperature. They need to let the feet breath and have real support. Maybe it's impossible to combine these demands - maybe this requires two different pair of shoes?

No - I think I get what you mean. Personally, I'd go with one of the "dressier" options in that case. And Ecco usually does pretty well in that regard. If you find a shoe with a last that is good for you, and a forgiving sole with flexibility, it should work for urban walking.

I agree with Suz. It sounds like you want a dressier shoe by a brand that makes comfortable good quality shoes with a good insole and so on.

Parsley - I love those patent loafers! I think you just helped me narrow down what I'm aiming at But I need to try them on in RL, I don't like online shopping because you never knows if the fit is right.

Suz and Astrid - your comments are so helpful! Dressier, comfy, good insole. You are spot on I was actually thinking of your shoe style, Astrid.

Have a look at Naots. They are ridiculously comfortable, but you might have to try on a few styles to avoid frumpy styles!

My "comfort" tip is to purchase the Birkenstock blue footbeds, which are just little insoles with arch support - I wear them in almost all of my shoes now. I can wear them in almost any flat, or almost flat shoes.

annaj - I have some insoles that are really good and I can use them in different shoes. they might be from Birkenstock. Thanks for the tip!
