So for those of you exploring the track/jogging/slouchy pant with elastic waistband look, how do you plan on styling them? Is one of the primary goals to cover the waistband?
I really don't mind the elastic waistband. I have worn them with a long sweater, and with semi tucked tees. But these have a nice (but sweaty) faux leather waistband so I don't mind it showing.
If I wear elastic waist bands I usually wear the top covering it. Sometimes I will wear a belt over top the waist band. I don't like the elastic waist band showing. I only wear elastic waists low on my hip I can wear a belt over and it will just sit there.

So I just bought a pair of J.Crew silk pants with an elastic waistband and found them sort of unflattering and difficult to style (see here: http://thepearshape.com/review-j-crew-silk-pants/). With an elastic waist the fabric tends to bunch and I feel like either you have a super drapey blouse on top, or something skin tight to balance it out.
Sorry the JCrew pants didn't work out for you Lauren. I see what you mean by the bunching at the front. Supposedly the Leith track pants Angie just posted about doesn't do that -- I am cautiously optimistic (waiting for my order to come in)!
