Styling a sharkbite hem dress... if its not too dated.

I found this black floral silk dress in my closet with the tags still sttached! Does the sharkbite hem make it too dated? I am hoping that the dark floral is current enough... i probably wouldnt buy it now because of the hem, but i do own it, so i'd like to wear it....

Maybe with black suede knee high boots and a black suede moto jacket. Too much suede? Swap one of them out for leather? I think it needs something fitted and structured up top. Would love to hear some other ideas. Thank you!

Another vote for "not dated". Hems seem to be doing whatever they want right now so this one should fit right in.

I wouldn't wear a sharkbite hem top these days, but would a skirt or dress.

Well as part of my Jan Challenge I’ve been reading and watching a variety of fashion media to start putting together a spring action list. And Vogue Uk says asumetrical hems are on trend for 2023, so yup, keep and more importantly wear.

Asymmetric hems. That’s it. That’s the trend. Sure, you can project the slide in the value of the British pound or the hike in energy bills onto the wisps of fabric that exposed thighs on the one hand (leg?) and draped knees on the other. Or you can accept the design for what it is: a skirt style that’s made for movement.

Not dated and I like how it‘s styled in the photo with white sneakers and a leather jacket. Swipe leather for suede, try it with higher shaft boots.

Not dated at all, and I have the same dress! I do wear it with cropped jackets and boots/booties as you described. I have also layered it over a black turtleneck to "winterize" it, and worn it with a short sweater over so it looks like a skirt ( and like one of those AllSaints hybrid dresses).

I vote yay! "sharkbite hem"...I've never heard that before. It's perfect!

I scanned really quickly, so others may have answered...I'd do one piece suede and 1 leather. Or even both leather, but a jacket and boots in suede feels heavy to me.

I'd wear it as is! Or if you don't like the hem, you could always lop it off - either diagonally , straight across or as a rounded edge?
