Style/boots advice?

Hi guys! I'm new here, and I have some questions for you because I don't really have a lot of people in real life to ask fashion advice. Since warmer weather is fast approaching, I've started refining my summer style. I just bought these boots: http://www.famousfootwear.com/.....et=details
and am hoping to wear them a lot this summer. my style is mainly light gray dresses and a variety of skirts, occasionally denim shorts.
my question to you guys is, how well do you think those boots will match the vague style I gave you? and, what should I avoid with those boots? finally, if you think i should mix it up and get new boots, what color/style would you recommend?
these won't be the only shoes i wear, but unfortunately i have to work with what i have on a budget - which isn't too much for the summer.

I love the boots, but what is your summer weather like? Is it fairly cool where you live? They seem too hot to be summer shoes.

Thanks girls! I plan on wearing them with very fine/thin peds during the summer. They let a chill into my feet during the chilly 40-50 late winter weather around here, so I'm banking on them being a good match for hot weather. Time will tell, of course!

So, do you guys think it would match a 'summer style' of skirts and dresses? any specific suggestions on what to match it with or what to avoid?

To be very honest, I don't see these working with summer clothing, especially skirts and dresses. They really look more appropriate for fall and winter clothes rather than spring/summer styles.

Unusual for summer but that could lead to some creative and individual looks - thinking knee high lacy cotton socks, skirt ending above knee, sleeveless shirt knotted at front.....or long boho skirt, peasant blouse for that Edwardian or little house on the prairie look. Your boots could lend edginess to various looks, great with shorts too. And it still rains in the summer, no? X

Thanks for the honest feedback, guys! I'll have to think very carefully about what I pair the boots with for the summer, if I do at all.
Do you guys have any suggestions for good, comfortable summer boots? I was thinking taupe as the color.

shortish in height, pointy, soft suede in light grey with lacy short socks might work with summery stuff. If you really like the coverage of boots, would the sandals with winding thick straps which go up above the ankle (sort of like gladiator sandals) work for you if its hot? X

I think you could make them work, stylewise, if you tried. But what is your climate like and how hot does it get? In my climate, there is no such thing as a comfortable summer boot. It's just too hot, and people don't wear boots in the summer.

Hi Jessie! Like yourself, I love boots and I tend to wear them all year round as well. It all depends on where you live of course. I live by the north sea, so we do get cool summers.

Yes, I do wear my Uggs in the summer sometimes, they are soooo comfy!

With that being said, the pair you chose looks really cute. It would work with all sorts of dresses, jeans or denim shorts as they are also very very versatile

I think they could work if you went for an overall moto-chic vibe.

To wear it with a dress there would have to be a real juxtaposition: the dress would have to either be very frilly and flowing ORAyou could go for a tight straight sophisticated column dress.

Jessie, I would be concerned that these boots would look too dark and heavy for summer, the heel may be too high unless you sit a lot, and that they may be a synthetic leather that would leave feet hot and sweaty and could lead to fungus problems in the summer. How about a boot that is perforated or cut out?
For color, something that can serve as a nude on you or a metallic. Both are easy to wear with a variety of styles. I noticed that Target has some cut out boots that I can't seem to link to. See page one of their women's shoes.
Below I added some more open booties from finds. They may not be budget friendly but maybe you can find a less expensive version if you like them.

A cool shoe! They are not only very comfortable, but they look great too! A lot of brands can keep these kind of shoes. Get some good info from Xwalker. A shopping search engine, it registers the top retailers giving you some great discounts on the products. You can learn a lot there and probably get a similar pair at great price. Go on try it out.
