Style this silk tunic

I've had this silk tunic for a few years and rarely wear it because it feels so nice but it just doesn't inspire me. I like it so much but I don't wear it because it's just never fabulous to me. Im going to wear it like this today to see if it grows on me.

Any other ideas? I'm going to try a tan halogen seamed pencil with it tucked in later.

I would actually try it with cropped straight/kick flare pants/jeans and cropped topper as recently suggested in this outfit formula post:

I know what you mean about it just not feeling right. I like the idea of wearing it with tan but also think it is nice with the black leggings. I wonder if you would like it more if you combined it with white? I often like a color better with some white to tone it down. And maybe with pink being so hot this fall it will work better for you.

traci, do you wear white jeans? I think that would be fab...then for when the weather gets colder and you can/will want to layer, slide a black tee underneath (I'd wear a uniqlo heat tec) and wear with black leggings or black cropped flares.

I thought I was onto something with the tan skirt, threw it on, took a pic, then ran out of the house to take dd to school. First person I saw asked why I was dressed up then asked if I was going in to work. I guess pencil skirt does read more office than running errands? Not sure.

I'll keep trying. The tunic does feel really good.

I'm on the hunt for the right kick flares. I just ordered and returned the halogen ones. The proportions are wrong for me. My white jeans are all too big right now. Maybe I'll try hacking them into a boyfriend crop?

I like it both ways you are wearing it here, Traci (and what a beautiful colour the tunic is!). Definitely second all the suggestions above too.

Re: "dressed up" with the pencil skirt. Nothing wrong with that in my book but if you want to dress it down a bit, perhaps tuck it into a denim skirt if you have one, or another casual skirt?

When it gets colder, I also like the idea of pairing it with skinny jeans or cigarette pants + leather jacket or denim jacket or a maxi cardigan.

Do you have patterned pants? The tunic would be fun paired with plaid pants or another fun pattern too.

P.S. I vote yes re: hacking your white jeans into boyfriend crops.

Oh man, I don't have any plaid pants, but I'd really love to get some. I was sad those plaid jeans from NAS a few years ago didn't come back. Great ideas, Inge.

Such a pretty tunic and luscious color! My go-to styling would be one of Inge's suggestions: wear over skinny pants with a long cardigan (in cooler weather). And boots or booties or oxfords (or sneakers, of course--consider the source, here).
