Hi all, sorry for being chatty Cathy lately, but I'm feeling energized for style journey 2018!

Angie's last few posts and the discussion around them has been so fun and inspiring; it's been great seeing everyone's different monikers and adjectives. Just documenting my thinking on these items for fun; as well, sharing with the group might help me stay on track

Style Moniker: Casual Kate
Style Adjectives: classic, polished, casual, simple ... and leaving one spot open to see what the year brings!
Wardrobe Essentials: Love this concept of Angie's - if I had only these items in my closet, it would be totally functional (if a little staid). I'm starring those items in need of a refresh, so that's my shopping list for spring/summer 2018 sorted:

  • fine-knit, tailored or just-fluid sweaters in neutrals/nearly-neutrals
  • fluid tees (summer)*
  • a navy blazer
  • dark-wash skinny jeans
  • white jeans or shorts* (summer)
  • neutral, walkable flats, including ballets flats and canvas sneakers (white Birkenstocks in summer)
  • stud earrings (crystal or pearl)
  • striped tees*
  • black slim trousers
  • a jean jacket
  • a neutral medium-sized tote bag
  • cotton-jersey sundresses (summer)*
  • nude wedges for summer dressier looks; neutral booties for winter dressier looks
  • a black clutch
  • a gray Roots hoodie (because January and cottages in summer)
  • necessary weather-related gear (coats, boots, mitts, toque, etc.)
If you made it to the end of this tome, thanks for reading; love to hear about your wardrobe essentials, etc.!
