So I am finally joining the style icon challenge fun. A week or so ago the forum generally suggested a whole bunch of style icons for me, and I ended up with up a long list of over 20 possibilities. I can probably not do all of them, but throughout my stay-cation, I am hoping to do at least one a day, so I should cover at least 7.
I am warming up with easiest one for me, Diane von Furstenberg. I have always been attracted to her wrap dresses and tops, before I even knew about body types/flattery etc. Later, I realized that it must have been instinctual as wrap styles are some of the most flattering ones an hourglass with small waist can wear. My three outfits here are all based on her own designs from her "Vintage" line, a wrap dress and two wrap tops; and loosely inspired by photos of her in her youth. Unfortunately, I can not really do fun poses as I take my pictures with my cell from the mirror.
My first outfit, in #1, is an inky patterned DVF wrap dress with tall grey lace-up boots. I have worn this or similar (with different shoes) outfit many times in the past 8 years I have had the dress. It is an old stand-by for whenever I need a nice dress outfit that does not stand out too much.
The second outfit, in #4, has already been posted on my culotte thread: DVF stone & black wrap top, denim culottes and black suede boots. I haven't worn this yet, but plan to, multiple times, when it cools of.
The final outfit, in #5, is my "DVF in the summer" outfit: DVF short sleeved wrap aqua top, white high waisted flare jeans, tan wedges. I wear this a couple of times every summer ( for at least 7 years), and sometimes switch shoes.
