Style Help! Any suggestions for styling this?

Dear YLF,

I have this fab Max & Cleo dress, but I can't seem to wear it out of my house! It fits like a charm, but I'm struggling maximally to put it into an outfit that is appropriate for this summer-ish weather!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd much appreciate your help!

I had originally planned to pair it with a thick grey sweater, brown belt and boots, but that's much more wintery than our +24's here!

Lyn this is such a gorgeous dress and I think it could pretty much stand alone and doesn't need much in the way of accessories.

How about:

3/4 leggings, ballet flats (black, red???) and a delecate necklace sitting in the neckline.

Black or colored pump, bare legs, necklace (pearls??)

And if you need warmth indoors, how about one of your lovely cardigans or jackets.

I'm sorely lacking a pair of red flats, and will have to put them on the -need- list For now, I will try your outfit idea tomorrow with pink flats!

It doesn't need anything :)... A eyering and a bag and a shoe... That's all :)...

And that it will support any colour...

It's a perfect dress. I'm wondering if you feel that it might be too dressy for smart casual? You could try dressing it down with a denim/jeans jacket. It is a great formula for using a pretty dress on a daily basis. Flats sounds like a good idea too!

Have you tried it with a shrug--maybe in black or a bright color? Very pretty dress!

Such a darling dress! The black and white palette would really support a splash of color, I think, and this dress would play really well with a red pump pr ballet flat. Like others have said, it's such a lovely dress, it doesn't need much styling. Your thought of boots and sweater would give it some serious edge too, when the weather is more appropriate.

Yellow? Turquoise? Red?

Cardigan? Sandals? Flats? Crossbody?

That's usually the direction I go in the summer, anyway.

I think it will really help you if you think of your dress as somewhat of a little black dress. You can pair it with virtually any color as long as it is a solid. I can't tell very well from the photo, but the fabric appears to have some texture to it. If so, you would want to keep your accessories somewhat smooth to avoid having them take away for the dress.

I'd skip a necklace, but a cuff could add a modern edge. I'm not sure if you're on team heels or not, but I can see it with a platform pump. Kitten heels would be nice, too.

I agree with the idea of a denim jacket. If it is too warm for that, how about one of the khaki vests with the tie at the waist and casual sandals.

It is a very pretty dress.

i'd just put on a load of silver and/or gold bracelets and bangles, slip on a pair of cage-type heels or cut-out booties and call it a day. xD I don't know your shoe situation though!

Maybe a pop of color with a skinny belt and coordinating handbag? It really is a beautiful dress!

Add me to the list of keeping it simple for summer. I'd wear it for everyday with a colored, crossbody bag and flats with bit of interest on the arm-- watch, cuff, or bangle. If you needed something for the A/C, I'd add a cropped jacket (black, white, faded denim). To my eye, a cropped jacket would give a more pleasing proportion at the back.

I think she meant earring and I think you can wear this with almost anything solid colored. I would throw on a skinny belt to break it up a bit and some flats. Maybe some sandals to dress it down? Also some dainty jewelry.
