I've been working on my style goals and items I need to round out/build necessary capsules and I'd like some input from all of the stylish ladies and gents out here.I'm thinking (and praying) that I'm in the last year of my program and I've hit kind of a funk, style-wise. While I love my style, causal gamine classic, I feel like I need to change-up a few things and build the all important interview capsule. So, without further ado...

1) Now that I finally have several nice short sleeve button downs, it's time to wear them. My goal is to wear one a week. And I've gotten rid of most of my old t-shirts except for 3-4. I'm only going to wear those on field days.

2) I need to break my dependence on jeans. From now on, I'll have one jeans free day a week. However, my denim pencil doesn't count as jeans because I think it looks a bit dressier. It doesn't have the front button and zipper like a pair of jeans do, and it zips on the side.

3) Holy moley - I need a suit. I have some awesome pants and a couple of cool grey blazers (which I hope aren't too dated), but none of those combine nice enough for an interview. I've been attending job candidate seminars and while we are pretty laid back dress code wise, everyone I have seen still wears a suit. I think a solid black one would be the most appropriate. If money was no option, I'd love to get a grey one as well. I probably should also try to find a couple of nice button downs that would match. I think this, along with a pair of nice black heels would be a good capsule. or at least the beginning of a good capsule.

When I'm talking about a suit, I'm meaning pants and jacket. I haven't seen any women give these seminars in my department. Would a skirt suit be appropriate for an interview? If so, it'd be nice to get a skirt that matched the black (and in my dreams, grey) suit.

What do you all think? Am I on the right track? Any comments, suggestions or anything else is appreciated.
