Is there anything you can do to your clothes to help with the lint issue? The navy dress I wore yesterday is a brushed cotton and a huge lint magnet. After I took the cardigan off, of course there was orange lint all over it. Does anyone know a secret trick to avoiding this?

If it's a texture issue, I think you're out of luck, if it's a static issue, rubbing dryer sheets on can help. I do that with our couch sometimes to help repell cat hair.

This is one reason I won't wear brushed cotton. Seriously.

I do not know of how to prevent it. Mo's suggestion is worth a try.

I haven't found anything that works, except a lint brush afterwards. I like brushed cotton, but I try to be careful about what I wear over it. Cotton over cotton is usually bad news if there is a color difference.

I'd test the dryer sheets on an inconspicuous spot, though, because those sheets can leave an oily spot on some fabrics if you rub the sheet directly on the fabric. Lint comes off, but an oily spot might be another matter.

It seems some fabrics are more prone to this than others. Maybe a denim jacket would work better than a sweater over that dress.

I separate my laundry and wash lint-prone garments together (light lint-prone clothing is washed separately from dark lint-prone clothing, of course). I add vinegar to the rinse cycle to decrease lint. I also use a lint roller. And, of course, it's far easier to avoid buying clothing that attracts lint; but alas, some of the most comfortable fabrics attract. I like clearlyclaire's suggestion of wearing a denim jacket with that dress. Hope this helps!

No help from me. I'm having this same problem with a black non-iron fitted shirt from Banana Republic. The only thing that works is not not wear a fuzzy sweater over it -- only lined jackets. Lint rollers are good too.

I bought a lint roller at my seamstresses shop that has Bounce built into it and it seems to help a bit but doesn't eliminate the problem completely.

I have just learned to avoid certain fabrics, QM. Black sateen is a lint nightmare, as is anything brushed. It's just the texture of the fabric.

Sorry -- I wish there was such a thing as lint repellent but I don't think there is.

Just gor rid of a wool boucle peacoat that merged with dog hair instantaneously. Nothing gets it out once it's stuck in the fibers! Argh.

yea, I figured there wasn't much to do to prevent lint, but you never know if there is a secret remedy out there unless you ask!
I am going to try the fabric softener sheets, but I don't hold much hope.
