Stuart Weitzman Lowland: yay or nay?

Last year my black OTK suede boots were a life-changer. I wore them all winter and into spring with my shorter dresses and they revived my whole wardrobe. I have been coveting the SW version forever but the COST! On the other hand, it's boot season all year here. This red is really calling to me. What do you think - foolishly expensive or worth the splurge?

I've had SW boots in both leather and suede, (below the knee though). The suede ones are three years old and still look good. I used protector and reviver a fair amount. The leather ones, a year old, also still look good.

The red otk are lovely, and I would think, based on my experience, if you can get the right products (in the right colour, may be clear or neutral), then that would be helpful.

The red is lovely and quite different from your black pair. Given the amount of wear that they are likely to get, I think this is a well thought out splurge. Who knows, you may be tempted to have the ends of your hair dyed to match these beauties!

They're really narrow in the calf & the thigh as well. But that might work to your advantage.

These are beautiful. Personally, I would be a little concerned about the colour. Given how spendy they are, I would prefer something more neutral (a taupe, grey or something in the brown spectrum) for maximum versatility. But the colour is gorgeous, and if it works for you, I say go for it. I might add, I saw a woman in the street the other day wearing suede boots in this colour (knee high, not OTK) and I almost fainted from a sudden and severe attack of boot envy. That happens to me a lot.

Thanks, enablers - I do love you! I have read a billion reviews , and the Extrapetite one is great since I am also short with skinny legs. I guess the benefit of Nordstrom is that I can always return them!

ETA: Brooklyn, we cross-posted! That is my concern too. I am hoping these are a cool-toned dark red which would go best with my blacks and greys. I struggle with grey footwear despite wearing a lot of black and grey!

I'm with Brooklyn re the color. Even if the red goes with a lot of your items, do you think you will get tired of wearing red boots for so much of the winter? Would you want to order the gray too just in case it's a good shade of gray for your wardrobe?

I'm with Suz... You live in Alaska, so these would definitely get way more use in your wardrobe than for any of the rest of us! I also think that this color would be perfect for you - it would provide the great color against your backdrop of neutral greys and blacks. Wow. I can totally picture these on you!

I think these are worth trying if
- you are okay with this much of your budget going into one statement item
- you think you will wear them regularly for a couple of seasons
- you don't see yourself tiring of them

I think these are the top of the scale OTK boots, and if you love the shape that they would be a wonderful addition.

I think they are gorgeous too, but agree - whoa, the cost! For me, living in a similar environment, it would not make sense bc too many days in winter are just slushy/wet/dirty or the ground is covered in salt. Not great conditions for suede boots. I however am obsessed with keeping my boots in pristine conditions, which means I actually take my OTK boots on the bus with me and wear my sorels (ridiculous, i know.) I would just think hard about the weather conditions where you live and whether you are ok with these getting messed up. If yes, or your winters aren't as slushy/salty, I say go for it.

This makes me want to consider OTK boots again, especially with my new-found love of dresses. But probably wouldn't start at such a high price point, even though these are amazing.

Since you have been down this road and know you love this kind of boot, I think it's worth it.

If they don't keep you from putting food on the table, I say go for it. Great hair, signature sack dress, trophy boots and you're done.

These never seem to go on sale! I wore my OTK boots 3 out of 5 work days for many weeks last year. Roxanna, I hear you on the suede, but like you I am very careful with my boots and mostly would wear these on sidewalks where the snow is cleared. I have looked in my closet and see lots of options for this color - provided it is the RIGHT shade and tone. Grey, black, denim, burgundy, olive and navy are all mainstays. Not sure about citron!
