Stripes in the Land of EUC?

I never wear stripes, but this sweater at Banana called to me.
I thought it was a nice, soft grey and the stripes are fairly low contast.
Do the stripes look odd with my curly hair?
Is it too modern looking for my Earthy Urban Chic rubric?

This is one of the official YLF sweaters! We have it in different colours, but it's Angie recommended and I can't count the number of us who are wearing it and loving it. It's currently on hold in my closet until the temps warm up (I need woolens and thermals now) but I LOVE it on you and think you should enjoy your luck in being able to wear it. Great choice and no, it does not interfere with your style persona whatsoever.

I like it! The low-contrast does it for me, as does the shade of gray.

As an aside, I know I've been doing Ebay for too long, because I saw EUC and thought "excellent used condition." o_0

How did I miss that this is forum approved? It was with the new arrivals at my BR, but it must be one of those styles they keep bringing back? How funny - I'm picking YLF items without even knowing it. I've got YLF in my (shopping) blood now!

Wow! That's a terrific sweater - I love the low contrast! I've been considering/planning to dye some of my stripes to make them lower contrast - black/white is just to stark for me most of the time.

Love it!! Stripes are the perfect opposition to curly hair. I am almost afraid to count how many striped tops I have (sweaters in particular!), and our hair is certainly very similar :} I think you can work this into your Earthy looks very easily! The soft shade works wonders with that. And it'll look good with both black and brown (and also at the same time).

this is marvelous on you, Tara! I love low contrast stripes, and these are done in what looks like taupe and cream -- and I also love taupe!

I read some 'expert' talking about how bold or big stripes can 'wear the person' (to me, that meant you see the stripes and not the person, but if stripes are done correctly the person will 'wear their stripes'

I think you wear these beautifully!!

I also think this is a slight variation of THE last BR striped sweater as I don't see any buttons on the shoulders. I wonder if this one is sized tha same for length, sleeves, etc. . .

Haha! Suz has her sweater in mothballs but I wore mine the other day. I think this top is just a little different than the one in Angie's store, which would explain why it's in the New Arrivals at BR.

That said, I love it on you. The low contrast stripes do not compete at all for attention with your curls. And may I just say that your skin looks beautiful? That pale grey must be one of your best neutrals.

MNSara - you're right! This is a sweater with no buttons. I also like how they've styled it with the white jeans. (Sigh. Now I really want white jeans.)

I think stripes work for numerous style personas. This would look killer with a pair of white bottoms.

I think your lovely curls are fab neutrals that go with anything! Great sweater on you and I think the low contrast suits your style.
