I bought this top this past spring, and it was admittedly a bit of gamble in that it was pretty pricey (in Cdn $) for a trendy top. But.....I just loved it from the moment I tried it on - the cotton lawn fabric is SO soft and luxurious. I have worn it constantly this spring and summer with blue jeans, faded olive khakis or white jeans . I know I'm among the minority here on the forum with my love for a cold-shoulder top, and I know it's a trend but - I still like the look and feel a little prettier in styles like this. So, in all it's maximal glory, here is my interpretation of the look shown in Angie's blog post. Not working today : running errands and loving/appreciating the lower temps (even if the sun is obliterated by smoke from the BC forest fires).
Worn with old, slightly falling-off Pilcro crops, and past-their-trend-date blue suede tie-up sandals. The shoes are another trend I know has seen it's day, but you know, I still LOVE the colour and they are comfortable and in great shape. I also don't worry about things like the leg-shortening effect of wearing crops and tie-wrap sandals - especially in a casual , every-day outfit. I experimented with a pile of bracelets - also not my usual look, but threw a few on that related to one-another in some way and actually don't mind it! Happiness factor in this look? Pretty darn good.
Close-up to show fabric, stripes and cold shoulder detail. Pic 3 is odd - the top does most definitely NOT stick out from my chest and hang out like that - I think it's the twisted standing thing going on .
jeans - Pilcro/Anthro - 3 years old?
blouse - Velvet
bracelets - mix of Pandora, Club Monaco and some random hand-crafted line
shoes - Steve Madden
lipgloss - Fresh -Sugar Pink cream lip treatment
Comments, suggestions, etc , always welcome!
Have a great weekend, all .
