Striped blazers?

So will the striped blazer trend stick around, or is it on the way out? I grabbed one on clearance at Talbot's today in navy and white and now I'm wondering if it'll look dated by next year.

[BTW: I went to the mall to use reward certificates from Nordstrom and Ann Taylor and ended up buying things from Talbot's and Banana Republic. Heh. :/ ]

Laura I'm not sure. But I hope they are around for a while. I bought one a couple of months ago which I am yet to wear. I think I have finally worked out how I want to wear it so im hoping it has a long life ahead;). A striped jacket (black and white or navy and white) for me is a pretty classic piece. What seems to change is the cut and style of the jackets. Will you show us yours? Id love to see it and how you plan to wear it:)

Deborah, I'll try to take a pic tomorrow - it doesn't look like there's anything similar left on the Talbot's website. They also had a gorgeous black with tipped cream ponte blazer that I adored but since I'm trying to go away from black I didn't pick it up.

I'll look out for a pic tomorrow:). The black with cream tipping sounds gorgeous, that would have been a hard one to walk away from, but I understand as I am also trying to stop buying so much black:)

I LOVE my striped blazer! It's one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. I got it in the Spring at Nordstrom's (Caslon knit blazer - no longer available) and I know that my cost per wear will be good overall. I don't expect these blazers to be out of style too soon. Stripes seem to have staying power...

Thanks for the pics, Devon, those outfits look great. I especially like it with colors.

OK, here's two quick pics of the blazer in question - I didn't really style it, just threw it on over jeans and a t-shirt. Obviously navy with denim seems easy, but I am trying to think through what other colors and outfits this would go with before I make the commitment to keep it.

Laura, that's a greal looking jacket. The sleeves look a tiny bit short though? Do you think you would scrunch your sleeves? I do think this jacket looks pretty classic. As you say, jeans, navy, black pants. Would also work over skirts and jackets. I think it will turn out to be pretty versatile.
