Stripe skirt - YouLookFab Forum

Dear Fabbers, can you help me?

I would like a striped skirt for spring/summer-mainly for work(which is smart casual, but perhaps for casual, too) but cannot find in our shops.
Thus, there are some on the ebay...so thought could give it a try.
Which would you buy, which do you find it more springy and versatile?

-1-it is said is coral-pink/navy stretchy
-2-as seen in the pictie(seems a bit more formal but no ideea about fabric) can see black/white and purple in the aztec print
-3-black and white, stretchy

What shoes, and tops would you wear with?

What came in my mind first:
For the first i cannot see furher than a smarter basic white tee or short sleeve shirt, and denim jacket.
For the second a black or white top(maybe a cowl neck sleeveless drapey ones.
For the last one, a basic black.

Do you have other styling ideeas?

I would say 1 and 3 are more versatile. I like the black and white because you can wear it with any colour topper.

Lyn, I have a very similar skirt to #1 only mine is black and red. I wear it often with an oversized black top with an asymmetric hem. Kind of debombing a pencil skirt.

I think the first and third would be the easiest to style, although they are all lovely. I have a blue and white striped pencil skirt that I style with a boxy navy tee. I'm also planning on wearing it with a white button down blouse this summer. I like the thought of a simple black top with skirt #2.

Agreeing with 1 and 3 being the most versatile. It seems 3 in particular could be paired with almost any bright. Both could be paired with a chambray button down too, I think. They look nautical and more springy than the aztec print.

My favorites are 1 and 3.

The hanger of the first one is from M&S collection "Per Una", but of course that doesn't mean the skirt is theirs too
However, if it was, it's a certain guarantee of the quality.

B&W is a bit more versatile (repeat after me: B&W stripes are a neutral), but from the way the fabric is folding in no.3 I wonder how thick/thin it is. Worth checking with the seller. Also, the stripes are not aligned on the side hem, which also makes me wonder of the overall quality of the item and I think it would be throwing things off even when styled with most care.

I love the 2nd one! The print makes it slightly unusual! I understand how the others might be more versatile, but I just love that Aztec print!

Ornella,(repeating after you:-)):- yes -even if- black and white strpes are neutral the nr 1 is M&S (yes, again!) and I'm trully leaning forward this one, for a matter, I don't know why. I like it is bolder than the others, but know it would also limit my styling choices.
BTW I love M&S, most of my wardrobe is from them, so I know it has to be a good quality, as you said.

I would probably go for 3! The B&W stripes would go with everything and B&W is super on trend for this Spring.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these Lyn - they all offer much in the way of versatility. I would go with which one fits the best and which one works the best with your wardrobe.
