I'm glad to hear it isn't the worst news. Not the best but a smaller hurdle than it could have been. Soon it will be over. Yay

Updating again. They called today with my surgical consult appointment today and it is in 6 weeks. I have requested to be on the cancellation list.
That is a very long time to wait, and that isn't even the surgery. Sigh.

I hope the cancellation list opens an earlier appointment for you, Glory.

Well, the waiting isn't fun, that's for sure; my DIL went through that a year ago over Christmas with her "atypical" results. The nurse explained that that non-critical cases like hers get put near the bottom of the list. Once she had her surgical consult, things moved a bit faster. Which doesn't make the waiting easier, but might be some consolation to know that the delay probably indicates your results aren't seen as particularly alarming.

Gaylene thanks for your response. It is quite helpful to know how they process the requests. I think it is also a longer wait because we are moving to the summer months with many vacations.

Hi Glory ~

I am sorry to hear you are going through this. The waiting in our health care system is terrible, just terrible! FWIW, I went through a similar experience and I was able to move up the list by calling the surgeon's office every. single. day. until they "found" an opening for me...it only took a week! I felt somewhat guilty that moving up the list meant that someone else was bumped down, but I learned two important things: first, that I need to be my own advocate when it came to my health - no one else was going to do it for me, and second, that when you feel something is wrong, don't let anyone talk you out of it. (In my case, I'm glad I did push for the follow up with the surgeon as she found multiple problems which required immediate surgery to correct and had not shown up on early testing. If I had not pushed for the earlier appointment with her, I would have waited months and who knows what my condition might have been by then!).

Hoping things work out for you soon

Phew, regarding the atypical cells. I had a lump like that about 20 years ago. It wasn't considered urgent so I didn't have the fast paced appointments I had 3 years ago for the cancer but the lump was ultimately removed. I am glad that they aren't just "watching" it but moving you to a surgeon for assessment.

This is actually very good news. Instead of thinking, "they are atypical", catch yourself and say, " they are NOT malignant !"

Update for September is that my surgery is finally scheduled for next Tuesday. I check in at 6 am and will be home by late afternoon. Crossing fingers that it goes seamlessly and have a good outcome.
I will be off work the remainder of the week recovering and watching TV!

Glory, our healing thoughts are with you. We are here to support you in any way at all. Much love. xo

Good luck to you.

It is almost over now Glory. I hope you get the best result possible and will be rooting for you. Take care and please check in when you have a chance.

Thank you so much for keeping us in the loop. I hope your recovery is comfortable and that news is good!

All the best next week. Sending good thoughts your way.

Good luck. Make them mark the correct spot with their sharpie, and look forward to a nice complexion afterwards. I swear it's the oxygen, very refreshing for the complexion

I hope all goes well. Thinking of you.

Thanks so much for letting us know, Glory, I have been thinking of you. I'm sending healing vibes and positive thoughts. Do rest as much as needed after the surgery (those TV sessions sound like an excellent idea), and we are here to support you.
