Strange shipping?

My original order placed on the 16th, the first day I could shop, has finally shipped after 8 days...minus half of it that sold out while waiting to ship.

Meanwhile, something I was originally interested in but sold out before I could shop, came back in stock on Thursday so I ordered it. It shipped in one day.

Best guess, they are coming from different stores?

The one thing I ordered (so far) was cancelled. It was the Olaplex hair products. The free samples you get with any beauty product shipped however lol.

Peri-I don’t know for sure. But what I can tell you from my experience working in retail this year has been like no other in terms of shipments from manufacturers. Stuff is late, containers to ship product from overseas are hard to find, different ports in different cities & countries have closed at different times due to COVID outbreaks, etc I think you get the idea. It maybe that the items you are waiting on are still waiting to be processed in Nordstrom’s warehouse. And the item that was sold out is a return and was now sitting in a store. I know my order took a week to arrive, but it still arrived earlier than what Nordstrom’s had promised in my confirmation email

I had a similar experience. Half my original order has just shipped, while a couple smaller orders of back-in-stock items shipped the same day they were ordered and one just arrived. I’m guessing they’re still trying to figure out who gets what of what sold out? *shrug emoji*

I had my order (from July 16) shipped to my local store, because I was out of town when I ordered. Two items are at the store, one is en route, and yesterday, a shipping label was generated for the rest. Meanwhile, a non-sale item that I ordered on Monday, and had shipped to my house, arrived 3 days later. I'm just grateful that nothing was cancelled!

I’m still waiting on four items ordered before the sale…..

The supply difficulties apply to everything…..we had a car problem and needed to replace the fuel pump (warranty repair). It took the dealership 3 weeks to get the part! For my basement remodel. It has been hard to get paint, and all the flooring and finish items have taken three times longer to arrive than normal.

Nordstrom uses a unified online order inventory system where they ship some products from their warehouses and some from their stores. Particularly with sale items, you can get a stack of boxes from different places.

Oh no Staysfit, 3 weeks for a car part! And delays for home improvement basics. As we are hoping to do some basic improvements in the first half of 2022, thanks for the warning.

Yes, very strange shipping, although I kind of get it. Interestingly, a pair of sneakers I ordered on the 16th at 1 am (bc I'm sick of things being sold out,) were cancelled. When I got the email, I went right back online to order them again. Those, and the one pair of pants I REALLY wanted are "getting ready."
