Straight denim skirt

This is my baby free day today! whoop! I am off to do a bit of shopping on my own for a change. I am shopping for shoes so wanted to wear a skirt similar length to the dress they are to match. I have teamed the skirt with pintuck white shirt and heels, but I am not sure if it looks good or not. I would prefer a nice colourful bag but that is also on the wish list lol!
So some more honest opinions please ladies??!

Lovely, I use a lot of denin skirts with white blouses on the weekends, its casual but polish at the same time.

This outfit is perfect for a days shopping, if you can wear heels for that long.

I think a coloured bag would look fantastic with some of your clothes. What colour where you thinking of?

I'm also trying to spread my budget for this month as far as possible, I have seen some Great Plains jeans in the sale which I am going to go and try on, but have fallen in love with this belt also http://www.inisonline.com/prod.....land-belt/

I was thinking of getting a red bag but I have looked at some and they can look a bit cheap unless you are willing to invest quite a bit in one. I will maybe hit the designer fake end of town in a few weeks and see if I can find myself a bargain! Good luck with the jeans RoseandJoan, I had a look at the belt too is is lovely, hope you manage to get them both!

You look great as usual. My only suggestion would be maybe to get a darker wash skirt, without the fading on the thighs. It would look more sophisticated and polished.

And I agree that a nice red bag would do wonders for the outfit! A pop of color would be great.

I agree with Marianna that a darker wash might perhaps look better. But you just have a way of making everything look fab anyhow

I think I will add a dark wash denim skirt to my wish list after your suggestions. In the meantime I will keep using this one, and hopefully brighten it up with that long awaited new bag.

I love your skirt, actually. Maybe it's because I'm in Austin, TX but that wash is really appealing to me. I have a darker one and I really don't wear it on the weekends at all. Mine also has the zipper button front, and I'm really learning to not like that.

This one also has zipper front, it tends to sluch down sometimes, and makes a horrible little bump ;(!! Are there other options for fastenings on denim skirts?

There are denim skirts that zip at the side, so give a smooth front, but they are harder to find. I have an AT one from their outlet but it's a-line, not pencil style. Some may zip in back. I've never figured out how to wear the split in front like your skirt has and be able to sit modestly.
You look great in your shopping outfit. I love the nude shoes too.

Joy you are completely right with the modesty thing! Particularly difficult when trying on shoes! lol!

Oh and the nude shoes were a total bargain about 2 years ago, got them for around $40 after a crazy discount (60% or something) one advantage of having big feet! I am gutted that they are getting a bit worn and haven't found something to replace them yet, they go with everything too.

Rute, if a back zip will do J.Crew has a snazzy little number right now. I'm not sure how to link to it but if you go to their site then search 'denim pencil skirt' they have a great skirt with a back zip. You sound like you specifically want the elusive side zip so this may not do but thought I'd share. I was on a recent hunt and someone suggested this - they said they have it and love it! HTH

Great place for designer bags on the cheap I think is off 5th outlet-- the saks fifth avenue outlet--- I also have had luck when bagborroworsteal.com does clearance sales --- I totally dig Lockheart brand for big colorful bags because they have great pockets inside
