My Stop Staring dress came at the end of last week, and I've just now gotten the chance to try it on and post pictures. At first, I thought that it might be too small; it's definitely a lot more form fitting than most of the clothes that I wear. I'd love your feedback on that issue. I can always exchange it for another size or a different style.
The last picture is the dress at its "normal" length. Obviously, I need to hem it, which is why I pinned it for the first photos. It's got a multiple-piece hem, though, so the pinning doesn't look very even, thus the bunching at the bottom. I'm also not sure what length to hem it to. I think it's meant to be hemmed a bit below the knee, but because I'm short, I usually hem things to slightly-above knee length. What do you think?
Review of the dress:
When I pulled the dress out of the box, I was in love. Angie mentioned that she was impressed with the quality of their garments, and not surprisingly, I wholeheartedly agree. The color of the dress is a rich burgundy, which I love, and the fabric is perfect. It looks a lot like a woven, but it's a thick, stretchy fabric that doesn't cling or bag out. It's definitely body conscious, but it skims over all the lumps and bumps, and most importantly to me, it's comfortable and moves with me.
The seaming of the dress is subtle, and I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but there's a lot done to make it flattering to the body - small darts, a little bit of ruching at the hips, the hem (I'm sure there's a proper name for it but I don't know it).
I would definitely order more dresses from this website, based on my experience so far. I feel sexy in this dress, and while that's not something I'm always comfortable with, I'd definitely love wearing it on a nice date with my husband.
