I am still on the prowl for a chiffon blush blouse. But I remembered this semi cropped tank at my local discount store from a few weeks back. No surprise it's still there, due to the somewhat non mainstream silhouette. It's half silk and half rayon, so very drapey. What do you think? Not cropped enough or long enough, but just in between? Just fine? Or totally wacked out weird? I'd like to pair it with these shorts (probably with a silver chain belt instead) and my platform dark nude sandals whenever my ankle heals enough. I might top my white jeans with it as well. Yay or nay?

FWIW, it's a good 2 or 3 inches below my navel - but the BF shorts ride quite low. And pic #2 was me not getting in place fast enough with my cane LOL but shows the side of the top well.

Mo, first of all, you look about 25 years old here!

You KNOW I love a cropped top, but I have learned the hard way that if I can't style it, I won't wear it. Can you show us a couple of other outfits with this top? Or are you going to wear it like this, with the sliver of skin showing? You have a flat belly, so it doesn't bother me...

I like the fit, drape and color, but it seems kind of basic compared to the more ruffly/boho ones you'd been looking at earlier.

I can see it with high-waisted pants if you've got those... ASOS has a lot of this look right now.

Una, I hoped this could be a 'make do' while I hem and haw about the right chiffon one. I didn't see the flesh belt (yikes!) until I put my hand in my pocket and inadvertently pulled my shorts down. I could layer a white spagetti strap tank under . . . or peach, or grey, or black etc etc And in full disclosure, I thought it would be a deal on sale at $4.00. Somehow it rung up as 43 cents. If it doesn't work, I have a fabulous new sleep tank

I voted Nay as a stand-alone top. If it were longer I would say Yay, it would be more versatile. But it is a very odd length, not exactly the new cropped length, but not long enough either.

It might be useful as a sub-layer for a transparent chiffon top. I have several of these and just purchased a nude cami to go underneath them.

Yeah, I was wondering about the nether length . . . could end up simply a good layering piece at a great price. thanks for your input!

I'm not a fan of it either, Mo. It's just not cropped enough to be a cropped over layer or long enough to be worn alone.

Sorry you are super slim and trim but this top is a nay vote. I like you in a sleeker look than this top. If it were longer I'd vote yay with skinnies.

Mo, you do not have a flesh belt! I'd like to see it over or under something before I vote.

Mo, would it work over skirts instead? It is too short for the waistband of pants (I am really not a fan of belly-baring tops regardless of body type; it's definitely nothing personal!) but I'm wondering if your skirt waistbands might hit you higher & make this top work as a pretty shell over a skirt & under a jacket.

I will have to take it up to the closet tomorrow and play around with an idea or two you have all thrown out. Una, I'll give it a whirl over the white tank and white jeans for starters. Kari, I'll see how it goes with a skirt or two. Hadn't even given that a thought, thanks for the idea!

Really pretty as a layering piece , under a denim jacket or black boyfriend cardi or jacket, but i agree with others...just not enough there as a stand alone piece.
I really love the color and drape on you .. I would definitely like to see you style it till it works.

Sorry, another nay. Maybe in a larger size? The short length combined with the close fit makes it almost reminiscent of a too-small business shell I once had. I think you'd be better of wearing the other fab items in your wardrobe until you find the perfect chiffon blouse.

Okay, so this is one attempt at layering over another tank. I've had workmen in the house so it wasn't ideal time to play dress up. I thought low contrast would be good and I kind of like the embellishment peeking out on top.
I could easily use it as an underlayer, but that would hide the two toned look of the silk and rayon panels, which is part of the charm of this top for me. Of course, I could always go to plan C and have a cozy lounge/sleep tank! Still not making the grade?

EDIT: And FWIW, I finally pulled the trigger on the blush chiffon tank today since it went back on sale! So if this doesn't cut it, that's okay - the one I've been eyeing is on the way! http://www.bluefly.com/Wyatt-s.....detail.fly

Malina, while I do like the colour on pretty you, it's not a fab top. I voted nay. The cut and length are just not your best. Dated in fact.

Love those shorts on you though. One of the very few able to pull off that look
