My purse was stolen last Thursday in a series of unfortunate events. I left it on the front seat of my car in our garage which I never do. Then the overhead garage door was accidentally left open for a short period on Thursday night which also rarely happens. About 30 minutes later, my dog barked at the door into the garage, my husband opened the door and heard something scamper out of the garage. He thought it was a small animal like a cat or raccoon. I couldn't find my purse Friday morning and that's when we starting putting two and two together. However, there was no activity on any of our bank or credit card accounts so I still thought maybe it was lost. Over the weekend, I finally accepted that whether it was lost or stolen, I was never getting it back and canceled all the cards and got a new ID.

I was super upset because I loved that purse (thanks LisaP - it's been perfect) and the wallet inside was a gift from my sister.

So the ongoing saga of my purse
– older couple rings the doorbell around 5 pm on Tuesday. Man says he
found the purse in the back of his pickup. He doesn’t know how long it
was there because he doesn’t look in the back every day. He lives in my neighborhood but a few streets away. Everything is still in
it except a $20 bill. My ID, my credit cards, and even my change.
However, it had a giant knife and a bottle of cologne added. The cologne
was really weird because it wasn’t just dropped in, it was inside the pouch I
use to organize miscellaneous stuff – kleenex, floss, medicine, pens, etc (which was all still in the pouch). My husband joked that he was surprised the couple brought it over thinking I was the
sort of person who walked around with a large knife in my purse.
Anyway, I’m super happy to have my stuff back.
