Stitch Fix?

Due to chemical sensitivities, shopping is a big challenge for me; I can't go in most stores. My daughter suggested I try, "Stitch Fix," and I wondered if anyone here has ever tried it, or has an opinion on it. I've read some reviews, and looked at photos of the fix boxes online, and am wondering if it's going to be too generic for me. I tried it earlier this year. It was a good effort but I didn't love it enough to try again. Probably better to hang out on YLF for awhile and then make your own decisions from online shopping sites with good return policies.

I suppose it depends on the person. I for one am very picky. A garment might be 90% what I want, but if something is "off," then back it goes! So this type of service probably would not work for me or for anyone who is super-picky.

It would probably cost more, but you could maybe hire a personal stylist to come to your home, if you want a style consult. You could show the person your pins, and you could spend some time online shopping together. After the merchandise has arrived, you could invite the stylist over a second time to evaluate fit and where you want to go from there. However, I imagine you would want to order quite a bit of stuff to have lots of options and sizes, which would mean you'd have to have enough money to cover the expense until you return what doesn't work.

I've seriously considered Stitch Fix, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. There are several quite detailed reviews of Stitch Fix boxes on several ladies' blogs which might help you decide if it's for you. I decided that budget wise it's either Stitch Fix or Gwynnie Bee for me, and for now I'm sticking with Gwynnie bee.

I think if you're stuck in a rut or unadventerous with your outfits, Stitch Fix could be a really nice way to try some new things. Of course, you could do that on your own, too, or with the help of YLF and some online shopping.

Tricia, I don't do a lot of brick and mortar shopping either because of my migraines; I get a lot of my ideas for online shopping from YLF. I haven't seriously thought about Stitch Fix or another service, though I've heard great things about Gwynnie Bee, just because I don't think that's how I'm wired. I just wanted to say that you've got some great stuff pinned, and I started following you on Pinterest. Good luck and have fun with whatever you end up doing.

My friend signed up for Stitch Fix and she had a good experience. She kept three or four pieces. Basically, she has a pretty classic style and was just looking for a way to keep it fresh with things that weren't outside her comfort zone. They sent her a few items that fit well into her style, but pushed her to try a few color combos she wouldn't normally wear. Nothing too odd--she isn't wildly adventurous though, so they were a good push to try new combos. She really liked them. For me, I think I would have been bored, but I like online and in-store shopping!
