Hm I can't truly tell on the color but it looks nice on my screen. Could be a good soft but rich neutral to pair with all of your blacks.

So is oatmeal a "bad" colour?

Joy if it was black if would be in my bag and I wld be on my way home lol. It's the colour giving me pause! I've never thought I could wear this colour;)

Oatmeal is kind of a soul-sucking beige color, a nice "safe" brown. I see it as a richer brown than the standard oatmeal on my screen, though.

It looks like a nice rich camel to me. It is supposed to be A great neutral to wear with pastels, you don't wear pastels.

If you love it, bring it home and try it with your wardrobe. I think it is a deep enough beige/brown to be flattering without washing you out, but will you wear it? You seem like a very balck and white gal, and it suits you! Are you ready to venture into some browns?

I think you are right to walk away. Awesome shape and drape but the color is not there... If it was richer camel it may have worked better but this one is hard to pull off for the most of us.

On my ipad it is a nice warm camel colour, not beige. What colours usually suit you, besides black & grey? If they are not warm colours then this probably won't work for you.

You made the right choice walking away. On my screen it is more of a blah oatmeal shade and it does wash you out a bit.

I agree with you - it's not the right color. I think it's too warm, and in the first pic, it looks like it washes you out.

I just wanted to add, I always fall in the same trap with taupe, for something! being blonde I like taupe, but it took me a while to understand/accept that's only tue for bookending teqniques, some bottoms, some prints, a pop of color(like shoes, bags, or other accessories), or a layering piece, the smaller the better, or obligatory broken up with other colors nearby my face....so no more cardis for me, esp not so long and overhelming my own delicate coloring and lack of contrast.

I actually don't mind the color completely but I honestly don't see you wearing it. A true taupe would work brilliantly on you though.

I don't think of this colour as oatmeal, Anna. Isn't it caramel or camel? Oatmeal is much lighter.

Personally, I think the length is too long for your petite height, Debs. I'm glad that it did not follow you home in black either.
