Still shopping for jeans: Gap Legging Jean and Long and Lean

I am still looking at jeans. As a MOTG in a cold-weather climate, I wear them a lot of the time. Today I received in the mail a Gap Legging Jean size 10 and Long and Lean size 8. Here are the pictures. I would never ordinarily wear the legging jeans with this short of a shirt, but I'm just trying to show the jeans. I don't think they're particularly flattering, but they are soft and I think they fit. I actually am a little worried that the Long and Lean jeans are a little too big even in the size 8. They fit perfectly in a comfy, pleasantly roomy way right out of the bag, which makes me think they will stretch out too much? I may have to drive to a store to seek out a size 6. I like the overall shape of the jeans. Any input?

I would never wear the legging jeans if my behind had the potential to look as good as yours in the L&Ls.

Thanks, Elly! You made me smile! I agree - the L&L jeans are far and away more flattering! The jeggings would serve a function, though. They seem nice and sturdy and snug and would be really warm to wear with a tunic or sweater dress and boots in winter instead of tights or leggings.

I think both serve different purposes and fit nicely in the photos. I'd be curious about the L&L in a smaller size. These look perfect, but if they feel like they'll bag then you might try to size down once more (and what's more fun than that???)

I'm actually wondering if the legging jeans are too big...? Mine fit much more snugly around the ankle, making them great for tucking into boots.

The LL's look great!! I want to say I heard they will bag, so it's worth it to try a size down.

I recently posted a similar thread and got lots of opinions on the Long and Lean with most people saying that they stretch and you should size down. Angie likes them a bit loose. I was debating between two sizes and ended up keeping the smaller of the two. With half an hour's wear it had stretched out so that it WAS loose, and I figured the size up would be too big for sure.

I think that if you have reason to wear both jeans, you should keep both. The legging jeans look great from front and side especially. The Long and Leans look great, period. The SA told me that they are flattering to just about everybody! Miracle jeans!

Every GAP jean I have owned has stretched out a lot throughout the day. I only liked them, usually, right out of the wash. So, you should get the smallest size possible.

The gap jeans look great on you. I don't mind mine being a bit loose and then I use a wide belt to hold them in place. It looks good with a button shirt tucked in.

I am not loving the legging jeans. Have you tried the Old Navy sweatheart skinny. They are ridiculously inexpensive and the sizing is far more consistent than the Gap jeans. I find they are slim but not too slim for my thighs to be comfortable. Might be worth a try.
