I'm getting frustrated and tired of shopping for this "must have" item. I need a blue, not too billowly, preferably navy silky top to wear with some navy jacquard pants for a special occasion. The heels I'd lke to wear are hot pink (they are the most comfortable ones I've found). I want the top to be dressy, cool in hotter weather - sleeveless or looser short sleeves and not too long - maybe will tuck it.

I've searched high and low and can't find the right one. I tried this one but the sizing was way off - too big- and now I"m not sure if the pattern or shipping costs makes me want to retry another size.

I saw some pretty navy tops at Dorothy Perkins, but these aren't silky, I guess. I will keep looking.

All I can offer is when you're looking for something really hard you can't find it, it's when you stop looking it will come to you. Somehow the image of what you are looking for is stuck in my head and if I do come across something I'll pop back in and edit my post.

Thanks for the links Susie and columbine - I guess I really prefer more of a v-neck or slight v-neck and I don't think peplum works for me at all. The smoking on the one seems a bit too casual. This is a dressy evening event. I could go with a print but wouldn't want large flowers - maybe something more subtle.

I think the problem is that I have that "perfect" item in my head - and now I can't find it. A silk navy v-neck maybe with a faux wrap that is sleeveless but has wide enough straps not to worry about straps showing or that weird spot just under the arms. If my budget was more like $300 maybe I could find it. sigh.

I have this happen to me all the time - I can picture exactly what I want in my head but can't seem to find it anywhere. Sorry, I'm no help with the wanted item, just wanted to commiserate.

Some of the links (alaskagirl and thistle) are very close - thanks ladies! Vince tops seem to be the closest to the more elegant look I was aiming for. The others are cute but really too casual for what I was going for I think.

I guess I have climbed the internet mountain so far - maybe I need to look to the sea now.
