is lace still current?

what about pompoms or tassels?

which of these should i plump for? i can get only 1 pair of slides and 1 pair of espadrilles. the slingbacks can go in either category.

On Angie’s recent “must haves” for Spring/Summer 2018, the 7th was embellishment- lace, tassels, etc. So, go for it! Of these, I like 2, 4, 5.

Oh my gosh, tough choice! They're all great...all pretty different. My only question is do you think #2 looks comfortable? It doesn't look like there's an ounce of padding on it.

I'm seeing a lot of lace and tassels at retail, so I'd say yes!

If lace is your thing, though, I think you could always get away with it as it's classic.

I think lace, pompoms and tassels are always "in" for casual summer shoes. 4 for slides, 5 for espadrilles!

I love #2 and #4.
I have realised over time that the one thing that flares up my plantar fasciitis is espadrilles. I have no idea why! But as long as I avoid them, I am fine. Though I do love the look !

These all seem such different styles thigh all casual that I’d have to let my feet decide— they won’t let me wear slides— or cushioning as mentioned, or straps- or have a target outfit or look I’m going for. For example, slides look like... slides, and have a certain devil- may- care look especially when juxtaposed with dressier items; ankle strap espadrilles would let me “ close the gap” with ankle pants and certain skirts.
So there might be a specific shoe that is more or less current or a way of combining things that is fresher but it all still has to work for you.
