I was a long time forum member and participant (as lisap) until earlier this year, when I left under circumstances I'll admit I still don't fully understand. I did do a whole lot of reflecting though …..

Anyways, not to get into that any further.  I wanted to come back as a "lurker" because there are a handful of women here whose wardrobe and styling I am interested in , and I wanted to keep in touch with what women my age-ish  were wearing .  But lurking feels weird to me, and I do like to comment now and then, but that also felt odd. As in, "who is this random unknown comment on my posts like she knows me".  So I'm outing myself , if anyone cares, lol.

This has been a year of almost no clothing purchases, save the odd black top that I can wear to work.  Not to sound strange and antisocial (maybe I am , haha) but with a social life that went from robust to non-existent, no need to dress in "real clothes" for work, and a change in our financial priorities, I simply don't buy stuff anymore. And I'm pleasantly surprised to find I don't care, either.  I have a closet stuffed with things that I never wear, so I'm just shopping my own closet when I need to and getting on with life.

These are some recent attempts at dressing - and in nothing new.  I apologize for the bad photos - always my bugaboo (poor lighting and no concept of how to hold a phone to take an accurate picture that doesn't create a  big head and a little body).  First up is a work look featuring some bermuda golf shorts. I'm 61 with osteoarthritis in my knee so it's usually swollen. It shows and I'm not fussing over it.  I liked this look - harkens back to my old golf outfits from my competing days - semi professional looking for the business I'm in.

Second look is a dress I bought last summer.  I wore it out to lunch the other day, and I'm not feeling as fab about it as I did last year.  Can't put my finger on it, but I didn't feel chic. I think the sandals (Fly Londons which I have in both this ivory and in black) are looking orthopaedic to me now? But they are SO comfy and feel cute - but maybe aren't now . Anyways, the dress felt big and dark.  I think my very short (ugh) hair doesn't help balance the look either.

Next up is my fav purchase from last summer - the linen blouse from Anthro- worn with Gap jeans. This is far more colour than I would wear in spring and winter, but in summer I don't mind.  I tried semi tucking it for more structure, but wasn't comfortable with the belly view.  Just not great in these particular jeans. Plus it's hot and I don't care about structure and max flattering.  I've also been experimenting with more ear jewellery (cuffs, an extra piercing etc) .

I had started a hair grow-out project along with Angie, and I lost the plot along the way.  It's waaaaaay too short right now, and I'm disappointed that this last cut went that way.  It's made me want to try a grow-out once again.

Bonus photo of a hot cat . I think this is Oliver .

So , if you're still reading, I hope to be a regular participant here again - in a different tone .  Thank you in advance for having me back.
