I had this idea and thought I'd check to see if anyone might like to participate. It's sort of like borrowing something from a girlfriend's closet, but via the mail.

What I'd like to do is organize a small group of us to do a temporary exchange program with some of our accessories, especially distinctive ones. Accessories make the most sense to me, because for the most part they fit everyone.

What I envision is for anyone who is interested to pick out a handful of accessories, send them off in the mail, and then enjoy a package sent to them from one of the other participants. After we've had some fun styling the borrowed items, we'd return them to their owners.

For me, this would be a way of trying out some new things I might not normally purchase, and then also being inspired by how someone else styles the items I have sent off. I think it could be great fun.

To participate, you'd need a mailing address you're comfortable giving out (via private message) to a forum member. You'd need to pick out some items to "swap," and also to have the time to style and share photos of the items you receive in a timely fashion.

I know it would be taking a little risk, but I know the forum members here as considerate and careful people who would be thoughtful of any items lent out. I'd also advise careful packaging, not sending anything valuable or irreplaceable, and possibly using a mailing service with tracking info.

What do you think? Is this a crazy idea, or would anyone like to try it out? For my part, I'd love to give it a whirl. If there's interest, I will post photos of some accessories I have in mind for lending.
