I went shopping at actual physical, brick-and-mortar stores last week for the first time in a while, and it was great! I'd been looking for a black denim skirt for a while, tried a few from online that all got sent back for one reason or another, and then stumbled upon the perfect one (a little distressed, not too short, really inexpensive) at H&M. This is definitely something I would never have gotten right had I ordered online - I had to go up two sizes because it has no stretch and is cut very narrow in the hips. Sizing up had the added benefit of making the waist sit a little lower, which I prefer as well.
Also picked up the blue and white blouse from H&M that I showed in my last bunch of WIWs - reposting the photo here for convenience.
I also found two jackets. First, a lightweight hooded olive utility jacket, which is an item I've specifically been looking for for a while now. This Levis one is from the Rack and fits the bill perfectly. Haven't worn it yet but I'm sure I will soon.
The pale grey jacket from Anthro was a bit of an impulse buy - I'd gone in looking for a different Marrakech jacket which they didn't have, so I figured I'd try this one while I was at it. It's fantastic - a very dense knit that looks almost woven/has some structure but feels like a sweatshirt. It's the perfect cropped length for me. The arms run quite long - this is actually a petite, which I usually can't wear because my arms are too long.
Also purchased (this one was online) the blush version of my teal New Balances. A new pair of sneakers in a light neutral (for me blush is neutral) was on my shopping list.
All in all, I'm very happy with these spring refresh purchases! A good mix of planned items and impulse purchases and they all work with my lifestyle. I don't think I'll be doing a ton more spring shopping (although I wouldn't say no to a new dress or two for spring/summer, and I am considering replacing my black combat boots).
WIW today: the new skirt and jacket, a hand knit striped top, and my Frye moto boots. Loving the way this skirt works with boots. =)
