I stopped at my favorite shoe store on the way home from work yesterday because they finally have some of their Spring inventory. I was hoping for some pointy toe ballerina flats, but none fit well. My feet are particularly sensitive recently because I have been running again, and thin soles are not supportive enough. This is what I purchased instead.
1. Picolino's laceless Oxfords- I really love these. They are very comfortable and they are made of butter soft leather. These are my alternative for lace-less sneakers because I have never found a pair that fit.
2. Fly London - deep red ankle strap sandals. Comfy and IMO interesting. I also tried the lower heeled Fly's but they were much less supportive of my arches. Interesting. Has anyone else found that to be the case?
3. Anyi Lu - light navy Mary Janes. I had a hard time getting a pic of these. They look black in the photo, but IRL they are a beautiful blue, somewhere between dark royal and light navy. These are obviously on the dressier end, and I plan to wear them with my blue and white floral dress, and my new white popover Tibi dress with the dark charcoal print skirt.
4. Birkenstock Gizeh's - I admit that I have purchased a third pair. I now own a pair of black, light pink and matte waterproof white. (They feel good on my fussy runners feet right now. I feel like I'm going back to my 20's )
I also rejected the Blondo's below and am going to keep the Via Spiga's. I loved the look of the Blondo's. They even felt good initially when I had them on my foot. The problem came when I was walking around my house for a while. For whatever reason, my feet were unhappy. The Via Spigas were more supportive, plus I love that they are perforated leather so they will be cooler in the warm weather, if it ever arrives!
