It’s officially Spring for us! And after a 4-year pandemic hiatus, NZ Fashion Week was back. It didn’t look as much fun as in the past and no longer had the Designer Garage Sale, but the night before I decided to give 2 shows a go on the last day Saturday.
One was some design awards based in a small town at the bottom of our country, an incredible 35 years of them- school students and adults enter. My fave outfit of those that had won categories was sewed by an adult, incredible amount of work with mesh dress and tiny mesh rosettes on the huge puffer jacket. The supreme winner sewed by a high school student was a set of 3 outfits based on tennis.
The second show was of 4 brands based in a fashion area- one all styled with flat white sandals ( showing toes!) and another with cowboy boots. Many waistcoats ( vests to some of you) on offer. And a few bright florals which were my faves.
It was also the best weather we have had in Auckland in months, couple of pics attached of our waterfront area.
So after the second show I bought a gelato
