I thought I was all set for outerwear, but I've recently had to face the cold light of day concerning one of my most important pieces...I should have sized up on my Blackberry trench coat. It's just not long enough as is and hits about mid-thigh when it's fastened (a big bust will do wild things to coat length). This wasn't a major issue before, but my new fondness for skirts and dresses has created a bit of a situation. I do not like coats that hit half-way down the skirt and leave part of it exposed. Therefore it stands to reason that I have to find a coat that hits around the lower part of my knee.
Problems:
1. Finding a colour other than black or tan in my size can be a challenge
2. My size also precludes double-breasted styles
3. And styles with a super-high neck (face-framing v-type collars are definitely best).
4. If it has a non-removable lining, I'm out -- I run too hot for that.
I am willing to be flexible on other things. I don't care if the coat is hooded. I don't insist on belted (a gentle a-line could work for my body). Removable linings are ideal, and I'm cool with unlined options too. Colours I will accept are just about anything other than black or tan.
Has anyone, anywhere, seen anything of the sort?
Also, am I wrong to think this dress is worth stalking online in hopes of a discount?
