I am sooooo out of it. I keep thinking Fridays are Mondays and stuff. Anyways, I've been catching up a bit this morning on Spring 2014. I'm sure I won't remember this when the season finally arrives, but I'm thinking darker, dustier colours for Spring 2014.

How far ahead is everybody thinking?

To be quite honest, I haven't thought about "Dead of Winter" 2013. I shall have to return to it. I'm waiting for the new Uniqlo to open (!!) I'm feeling thoughtlessly happy, perhaps even complacent, with my Fall 2013 Country Punk. It's still going strong. Maybe I'll reduce Dead of Winter to plaid, leather, and dark green...

I'm also experimenting with my hair a little more. This week is the tucked braid...

Love the colours in that outfit you posted.

But I have not thought ahead to dead of winter, either.

At that point, my preferred outfit is usually pyjamas.

I wish I could hang out in pajamas all winter long. My leather shearling lined Uggs are at least a step in that direction

well I am thinking about winter but only because Angie posted a bunch of ensembles with ink blue and greys and whites that I loved but didn't have room for in my fall wardrobe....so can you guess which colors will be in winter? Note, I don't switch out the entire wardrobe, just deemphasize the obvious fall colors like golds and browns, and emphasize greys and blues and berries more. Black is still the most common color.

Style wise, hmmm, sticking to the only one I know, urban classic with edge. Does that work?

It's weird right now because we are in our Indian Summer. The days are short but hot. And now that y'all mention it, it will be time to pack up summer soon and unpack winter.

I like the outfit you linked and your hair is lovely in the photo. As for me, I've barely got my head around thinking about winter. I added a lot of stuff for spring and summer this year and I think a fair bit will still be relevant for next spring. Fingers crossed anyway.

Thanks, Diane! I have the feeling too that a lot of the current trends are going to be fairly long-lived. Not that many fads I've noticed. Folks are still doing fuzzy vests for instance, on the winter front.

Jayne, I was just thinking about winter colours, and the switch to greys and blues and berries. I wonder if a brown suit in winter will look funny...

First Rachy, you crack me up. I've noticed that you sometimes get mixed up with blog post info, and it's endearing. Your heart is always in the right place.

Second, you were made for Edwardian braided hair. Heck you'd rock Heidi braids too.

Third, I loved your astute comment that earth tones tone down the sweetness of pastels for your style. That's dead right.

Fourth, Country Punk is forever fashionable for our Quirky Waif so no worries.

Haha, Angie! haha! You are very kind and patient! I have no idea what's going on! I don't know why. You know, when I have a puzzle to figure out, my brain tells me to go away while it works on it. Wants me out of its hair! ...And my co-workers have just explained to me the song is not "shake it like a red mouse" but "shake it like a red nose" (as in red nose pitbull terrier).

I really want to try the pastels and earth tones. Saw a powder blue suit on sale but the pants were too short in the rise... but in the meantime, you have reminded me of my love for the Edwardian. I feel yet more outfit inspiration coming on....

I'm still hoping to wear my early fall items more but afraid that one of these days it's just going to turn into winter and we won't really have a fall. I'm not sure what shape my winter wardrobe is in but know I have enough.

I used to wear my hair like that! I wonder how much of it I could get into a French braid now, I haven't tried.

I'm still trying to figure out Fall 2013. Example: is a cobalt linen blazer too summery for Fall? What if my summers are too hot for said blazer, does that make it a Fall item? Stuff like that is what's occupying me these days.

Joy, I fear too we will just drop into the frigid weather one day and I won't be prepared! Everything will still be in bins at the back of the closet.

Adelfa, a cobalt linen blazer sounds smashing. Can you get a sweater under it? That would "autumn-ize" it maybe.

Really like the colours you've chosen for Spring and you hair looks amazing like that.
My favourite wardrobe is winter so that is as far as I'll go. Wool and wool plus wool....yah.

I am scared of winter so will look ahead to next year with you. By which time I may shop again. Will also try to win efficient parenting award so that I can grow hair long enough to experiment---that tucked braid looks Neat.
