Spot of shopping, Freepeople dress, All Saints and Birks

I have been prepping for the spring and summer. I would very much welcome your comments on any of the items below. Hair un-styled and no makeup.

I was trying to emulate the LisaP look of skirted leggings and top 11,12. An attempt from All Saints; too much fabric?

Again, All Saints, cute red blouse, 1-4, smallest size, a little bit open at the front. I can sort with a snapper. Fresh and pretty for home and work?

Striped top from Seasalt. Love this. With denim jacket.

The navy patent Birkenstocks. Somehow Birks sell out so quickly that I thought I would reserve mine quick. Happy with these.

Then the freepeople dress. Too much fabric? Smallest size. I haven't pressed and will do and put on if you think it has potential.

Wow, that blouse in the first 4 pix shows off what great shape you're in. Sadly, that might make it inappropriate for work. Is the deep slit in front ok for work, if you have a topper?

Are 10-11 the skirted leggings looks? It's hard to tell what's going on. From just the silhouette, it looks like a lot of fabric in one place. Is that cling, or is that the way the pieces really hang?

Love the red top (and, yes, I had to look up the British use of popper, so I learned something!) and the Free People dress. Both are quite flattering. Striped top is cute, and will be great with a denim jacket. It’s hard to see the details of the dark top/leggings outfit. But, from what I can see, I like the way the top drapes and it appears to be a good length. You did well!

What a cute red top, as lovely on its own as under the red blazer (which is great!). I also had to google poppers, Lol. Got many meanings, but figured which one you mean, I think, ha, ha, ha.
I really like the striped sweater on you, wonderful colours, it will be perfect with a denim jacket. The sandals are also super - makes me want a pair too
I think the dress looks nice, not too much fabric from what I can see. The top fits nicely and nice accent of your tiny waist.
The leggings outfit is a bit difficult to see, but the top looks good.
Very nicely done!

Off to google "popper" which I had written off as a typo of "topper".

ETA: several new meanings of that word for me. I assume you aren't talking about an inhalant frequently used in the gay community, and that you mean a thing to fasten the top of the blouse. Perfect.

I really like the blouse Jane,it’s super pretty on you.Cant fault the sea salt top either for casual wear.The dress looks great on the top half but a little voluminous below the belt.Any chance of being able to reduce some of the bulk here?Do you know a good tailor?

The red top look great on you. I agree with Cardiff girl that the dress seems to have too much fabric below the waist for your small frame.

I think the blouse is SUPER amazing on you and yes, a popper/snap should sort out the plunging neckline. I just love the tonal look with the jacket. It looks fresh, cheerful, individual, and high-end (in a good way). One of my favorite things I’ve ever seen on you.

The stripey top is fun especially with the jacket and I love the Birks.

I’ll vote a reluctant nay on the dress. I think the amount of fabric plus the busy print is a little overwhelming. I see the dress first, not you iykwim.

I’m having trouble evaluating the last look, I feel like I need to see it in motion.....

Thank you Bennett, I am not sure it really is the dress for me! Yes, CardiffGIrl it is quite a lot of fabric, I do know a tailor but it is a bit of a palava...so not sure it is worth it. I am thinking that Joy is right - just a lot going on below the waist. SarahD8, YES! I think the dress is wearing me!

Ok, I’m a spanner here — I like the FP dress quite a lot on you! I think because we are not seeing your lower legs and feet in the pics, it might be contributing to a too-voluminous-on-bottom appearance. And I am usually very sensitive to any silhouette looking bottom-heavy! Perhaps the dress could be shortened just a bit if there is an issue with it being a little long.

I also think that rolling or scrunching the sleeves might help break up the expanse of print.

I wish that dress were available here in the B&W print — I would try it myself.

The red peplum blouse is awfully pretty. If a snap and cami work to conceal the front - keep.

KILLER striped top, and adore it with the pleated skirt and denim jacket in #12. I want a pleated midi skirt!

Fab Birkies. Good fit. I like the white sole.

My FP dress! Love what I see so far - can't tell whether it's overwhelming without a full length pic. Probably just needs a hem to a shorter length.

Great stuff - the red blouse is my fave - lovely on you and will be great for work with the snap. Closely followed by the sandals. Need a fully length of the dress, but I like what I see.

I really love the striped top and the outfit with the denim jacket. The dress looks pretty good. Sandals - thumbs up here. If you can make the red top less plunging, then yes to it too.

Thank you for your comments. So,here is the dress half pressed, with jackets, with white boots, with a heavy pair of heels (that I very occasionally wear).

I would be pleased to keep if you thought worth it and worth a trim on the length.

And I have played with the buttons on the blouse, which works - still a plunge, but not so much of a gape?

Janet, good point on the sleeves. Thank you for causing me to think, and I appreciate your special skill in the visual appearance of the lower half!

Angie, I am hoping that you like the button adjustment. I can always add a snap, but the simplicity of the two buttons, appeals.

Thanks for the extra pics, Jane. LOVE THE DRESS WITH THE WHITE BOOTS. I don't think it needs a hack. Length does not overwhelm you. Plenty of tailoring up top offsets that.

Do you have a collared denim jacket? Try your collarless embellished denim jacket with the dress too.

Try your tailored tall heeled boots with the black jacket.

Do you have a white jacket?

Try your puff sleeved black jacket that has a collar.

Maybe #6 and #7 with the white boots?

Try the dress with your casual white lace-up boots and new black Docs too.

I'm standing firm on the dress - I think the length is fine, especially with the white booties, my favorite footwear of the two that you show. Just that tiny bit of skin showing is perfection! Looks great with the light jacket, very fresh and the best of the two jackets to me. So my vote is: WORTH it to keep, NO to a hem trim, WHITE boots and jacket are FRESH! Of course YOU are the only vote that counts!

No, I don't have a collared denim jacket, but I think the embellished will look good. And, I don't have a white jacket. Good idea on the black jacket with the puffed sleeves. And I will try the casual lace up boots with the dress too.

Your post on Friday I felt was written for me with my new Docs! I loved it. I feel sorry that I wasn't able to do an outfit lab. But all of those looks I can do. Yay! I wore them with a pencil skirt outfit yesterday evening.

I’m so glad the dress is the keeper. I’m off to stalk this color on eBay. They have other sizes but not mine yet. It’s lovely on you, as are the other items you posted.
